    Weather

Curious. Does anyone have any longer term forecast, guesses out there.
Could use a little hope lol.
No sun or temps and showery called for here as far out as they go.
    Everything still green.

Not that this will help ...but I thought we were living in a country of ....."sunny ways"...

Its odd but things don't warm up without the sun....been a very cool summer....unless you live in more populated areas

FFS Edmonton has a climate emergency...whatever that means...

So does all of Ag, but nobody need farmers, stores are full! World in over supply, food cheap life good for 98% of population.

Likely so they can pull more funding (taxes) for flood control/repair in the river valley.

Bias seems to be leaning towards poor-fair harvesting conditions overall for the areas that have not really got started yet

What concerns me is a hurricane is to hit Florida by labour day. Guaranteed to bring poor weather here for 2 weeks. Happens every time. When Katrina hit in 2005 we were down a couple weeks but then it did get better and we got it off but crops are further behind now than they were then.

I've got two aeration fans with names Hugo and Andrew. Also remember Romano charged me $ 2.70 tax on a 50 amp plug.

Are the tires and belts supposed to be wet while baling hay? Been like that most of the “summer” ( if you can call it that) here and no sign of it changing yet. Already at 2500 silage bales and didn’t intend on making any this year.

Put in rig mats today to get out of the field with a wagon half full since the accesses were punching out. Normally haul out with loaded trucks no problem every year but left 50 acres with standing water untouched and still sunk the baler tractor yesterday.

My wife was mentioning about possibly taking a holiday next month and normally that’s off limits but I doubt our early seeded barley will be off before October even with drying it. Forecast looks like late September already.

Summer .......... where art thou?? You forgot to come to the hills and muskeg this year.

The last time through BSE the government didn't support you cattle guys while the industry bent many over....

You are having our 2010, a year to forget, try your best, seems no two years same around here, 2011 was fantastic, then 2012...crap

Ironically I think we need more cows to chew through the feed we got. Had two years of feed on hand before we started baling this year. There’s still a whack of second cut, greenfeed (wheat planted late for summer grazing that’s not required now), and grazing corn. I guess there’s worse problems to have😉

I don’t want a hand out from the government. However they should do their job and defend and promote our markets to create real growth in the economy. Also get Environment Canada to nail down a weekly weather forecast before worrying about the next 50 years of warming (or not).

Some random thoughts as I wrap wet hay in a foggy drizzle that was cut 9 days ago with no rain in the 10 day forecast. It got washed 3 times anyway.

Just like here. 2015 is the last time when the whole neighbourhood finished harvest before winter. Last year having droughted out crop getting downgraded from too much rain/snow at harvest really sucked.

Maybe next year will be like goldilocks................. “just right”

I’d say “normal” but I’m almost afraid of what that is anymore.

                            I don't trust a 5 day forecast.
Barely trust the third day of a three day forecast.
Frack all I can do about the weather anyway other than make management decisions and accept what ever Ma Nurture throws at me... complaining about it helps alot though.

If we didn't have a little bit of harvesting to do I'd welcome it.
Still have a soil moisture deficit going on
