I think proximity to crushers and processors makes a difference to regional bids.

If the GrainCo is buying it to throw it in a train.....versus....

Had a little bird tell me that China is snooping around for a very big volume of Canadian wheat .. anything being said anywhere about this , or just talk ?
Still won’t touch evil Canadian canola lol , but need wheat ASAP because of the Australia situation.

More China news: One September 10 they announced an agreement in principle to begin importing soy meal from Argentina. Have never imported Argentina soy meal before. Estimates of up to 2.3 million tonnes of meal to be imported in 2020. Details to be worked out.
And on September 9th China certified 25 Brazilian packing plants for exports to China of meat products.
Another result of Trumps trade policy. Any guess what this will do to canola meal and cattle prices? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-10/china-to-accept-argentine-soy-meal-argentine-government-says https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-10/china-to-accept-argentine-soy-meal-argentine-government-says

                  Likely. Haven't seen any news.
Reasoning: get the good stuff before the rained on mildewed crap hits the grate.

China has a history of buying 1.0 to 2.5 MMT tonnes of wheat within a single contract.

They can get in and can buy here and get out under the radar and we find out six months later. 100 to 300K a month goes by and no one pays attention and pretty soon its - WTF.

If they bought anywhere else the rest of the planet would know. Every one of the talking heads that was all over China's shitting on canola with a classic: but look, they are buying wheat - missed the real reason why they came to Canada and with it, a chance to lobby for an export reporting program. Apparently it still is not important or the people farmers have speaking on their behalf only know rah rah and can't think far enough ahead or back to ask how this happened. Ostriches with their heads in the sand, sadly, have a place in the Ag Hall of Fame.
