Local bid for malt quality has gone up from $4.50 to $5.00 during past month, does not look like what is still out is going to be acceptable.
Thinking it may be time to sell.

If barley is still in the field now, it is likely feed unless it is still green.

Stuff around here still seems ok. Even swathed stuff isn’t showing much chit. Tough as goose crap still but otherwise it’s not out of the running.

If it’s not off by the time the next batch of rain hits this week it could be a different story.

Just wondering if anyone thinks the malt barley price is going to increase anymore. Local Viterra has $5.50 for Jan- Mar delivery for Metcalfe.

Yep hear ya. Basically $265/70 on farm here for nov/dec harvest everyone hanging for upside the mythical $300 on farm for feed barley. Might happen another scorching fros this morning for many areas
