I really like the forecast posted above about the snowfall warning in Montana etc. They actually give their confidence in the forecast. I need that in every forecast. It might be a 60% chance of showers day after tomorrow, but if they are only 20% confident that the system which brings 60% chance will pass through, then I can plan accordingly.
I've always liked that about US bulletins.

Historic blizzard with up to 20 inches of snow forecast to hit the Northern Rockies and Montana. Get the ski-doos out.

Wow reading this thread is giving me a feeling of dread but still hoping we miss the white crap. Feeling bad for the guys that get hit and i am sure some of us are if not all of us.

I had a younger sister born on the 19 of Sept. 1974 and i remember clearly. Sunny and warm and everyone out combining. The following day blinding snow storm that left about a foot of heavy snow. Lots of mud and ruts and struggles later that fall with crop staying out for the winter.

Not welcome this time of year.

Go to Environment Canada's website, satellite imagery and animate it.

Instead of the weather network interviewing everyone in Carston, Alberta it would be nice to have coverage of the storm movement instead.

Only proper thing to do in this case is ramp up the confidence in those predictions. If there is a large enough consensus, and thier confidence is high enough, then no amount of real world evidence will matter to gullible folks such as Chuck and Greta.

Not too bad yet but two more days of anti-harvest weather to endure and get through!
                        Then it hopefully starts drying.
                        What a harvest...

NO what? Let's talk about it, acknowledging it is half the battle and starts the "healing" process. Lol. This might be "terminal" ....no chance of recovery for some . Don't be in denial.

Made it 4 months without a windchill value (officially anyway). What a country!

Old Man Winter is trying to save some harvest for next spring. Again. There seems to be a pattern forming.

This may not only be a season ending storm ...it could be a farm ending storm....the margins are too tight not to get this crop...
