    New Greenhouse Gas

Lets see chuck squirm is way out of this one.

https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-49567197 Climate change: Electrical industry's 'dirty secret' boosts warming

It's the most powerful greenhouse gas known to humanity, and emissions have risen rapidly in recent years, the BBC has learned.
Sulphur hexafluoride, or SF6, is widely used in the electrical industry to prevent short circuits and accidents.
But leaks of the little-known gas in the UK and the rest of the EU in 2017 were the equivalent of putting an extra 1.3 million cars on the road.
Levels are rising as an unintended consequence of the green energy boom.

Boys you know that has nothing to do with keeping Canada in line.
The US has laughed all the way to being a net exporter.

The law of unintended circumstances. Trying to solve a non problem with a more complicated soution. And surprise, it still throws off pollution.

It's less then 0.1% contribution FFS. Considering all that it does, that's a very small price.

Excellent point, many have been using that argument about the oil sands, and now you have validated that it applies here too.

Oilsands are 9% of Canada's CO2 emissions, and Canada is 1.63% of the worlds emissions, so oilsands rounded to the nearest 1/10 of a percent, equates to 0.1% of world CO2 emissions, considering all the good they do, that is a very small price to pay.

Well exactly. I suppose we could turn off all the electricity. But that is how social media works so effectively. Jazz posts this flashy headline about SF6 with absolutely no idea of what it is, but the damage is done in the minds of the headline reader. Just like glyphosate, GMO, vaccines, dot dot dot.

Did you read the article? A ppm SF6 is equal to hundreds ppm CO2. It has an amplified effect. And its an unnatural substance to the atmosphere unlike CO2.

It lead to the equivalent of 1.3M new cars on the road. What problem are we trying to solve here? Sounds whack a mole to me and putting a new greenhouse gas in the air that we know plants cant even use.

About the same as Canada's contribution to global warming!
