Just a heads up to all struggling with 2019 harvest.

All companies are going to increase your seed costs for 2020. Let that sink in your price for your product has dropped by a considerable amount to sell. The pigs are waiting for you to finish harvest and soak you for same shit variieties with different names for more money than last year and before.

To all the seed tax guys who want this shit for wheat and barley, this is the system we have with canola, and other crops will be added to the corporate welfare state.

For once, it would be nice if the pigs tried working with the farmers instead of bleeding them dry.

We let the shit show happen and its time to fight this one.

Whenyour paying 16000 a quarter for sup par seed something is wrong.

This year we had all the new varieites of Canola with the liberty trait. Guess what all were similarly priced and guess what some were sub par. So you pay for slick advertisemetn yet get a shit show.

When will these corporate pigs quit trying to extract every single penny we farmers have left and give us a piece of the pie. Instead of eating the whole ****ing thing and our next year's pie.

The madness has to stop.

We are not competitive. Try this same shit in Russia or Ukraine or South America.

I got some prices they are no where that .... they are beyond ridiculous but not $1000/bag.
Prices weren’t dropped in relation to what the commodity is worth.
Like I’ve said before my back isn’t sore anymore from bending over. Just take it like man!!
I didnt grow canola in 19 due to the high cost, so likely no canola in 20.
At least I’m taking somewhat of a stand.

Plus fields had more weeds because it is a slow growing plant.

Do not grow it.

The way the markets look to me, not growing canola in 20 isn't a crazy idea. There's an arguement to be made that oilseeds haven't bottomed yet. It's possible to make money in 2020 without canola in the rotation.

I quit a few years ago too. More MARGIN in other crops. Less GROSS which seems to trick most guys...

My feelings on it anyway.

It won't take long and seed cost per acre with a planter will soon approach what it costs to seed with an air drill.

Everyone excited to add another 6 figure implement to their tool shed? Its coming...

Vladerstaad is already working on a planter you can pull behind your air tank.

Same here. Don’t miss it especially as I’ve still got a bin of 2018 green crap that was dried and still heated. Going to be cow chow in a few months. Feed wheat and barley net the same or better for us anyway.

Even without planters virtually everyone I know has cut seeding rates to 4lbs from 5. They are recapturing that 20%.

thats how soybean seed is priced, based on units/acre basis row planter requirements. if u seed with an airseeder, you need to bump your seed rates to approx 1.5x so seed costs go way up. Now that BASF has moved to a units/acre pricing model on invigor canola seed, as a few more farmers start 'cheating' the system by cutting seed rates with row planters, BASF, et al. will move the pricing basis row planter requirements. so plan on paying a lot more for seed if you are still using an air seeder/drill, or go buy a $500k vacuum planter.
