Canadas demographics are contrary to conservative ideals. Too many people clinging to the govt tit and too many people with a poor understanding of modern economics including millions of our new immigrants. They will land in TO, vancoiver and Montreal and vote liberal until those cities are given another dozen riding or so then its game over for the west.

Apparently deep in the constitution there are provisions to basically wall yourself off from the rest of the country. That's probably the next thing that will be tried. Challenge the constitution, try to claw back those equalization pmts and those couple bills, then fire up the rest of the charter and put us into block mode, pretend the rest of the country doesn't exist like they do to us.

Quebec tried a vote on sovereignty-association, still not clear what that was, but maybe that was the beauty of it,,, make it up as you go. Shame we didn't let them go, or had a vote to let them go. The West would have instantly had more power in a Canada, without Quebec. Ontario knew they'd have less power without Quebec, and needed Quebec to stay.

There is no separating, parts of the prairies cannot go it alone. It would only mean more isolation. We are land locked now, going alone would only mean more land locked with harder borders.

I can only see one possibility, that would be to join the U.S.A. We have a tremendous amount of resources that they would be desirous of, petro resources, potash, farm and ranch land, trees, fresh water lakes, uranium, etc Saskatchewan's population would likely mean 2 seat in the HofR, and 2 in the Senate. That doesn't seem like much representation either, but ag policy is taken more seriously, and for the prairies that's a big part.

I like Canada as a country, but at this particular moment in time there are about a dozen or so people who are turning normally patriotic people into hateful, resentful people. It's just wrong to the core that a tiny group of people are allowed to do this in a first world country, this group has nothing, absolutely nothing in common with the average working taxpayer, if Trudeau had to write a common sense or logic exam, even after studying for 47 months, I doubt he would get over 6 or 7 %.

In a few years this so called questionable weather wobble will be out of the mainstream news and the liberal children will be gone, just as in Ontario, all will be left is the enormous debt as a reminder, but by then western Canada will look like a rented mule on a hot day.

Please think long term when voting, all these financial promises have to be repaid by our children . . . . . . I get the feeling they will hate us.

Trudeau sure has managed to make normally happy people all over Saskatchewan questioning our confederation. If Trudeau wins the election the damn will burst and there will be pressure for a new deal for Western Canada or other alternatives.

It’s hard to believe how quickly Trudeau and Goodale have divided the nation and played regions against each other while accomplishing nothing.

Yes. If Trudeau gets in again I would vote to separate.

Not enough would be with me though. Fear. Of what, I do not know, but a republic of western Canada could be the most dynamic country on the planet. If Norway can make a go, surely western Canada would make a go with our can do attitude and our immense untapped resources. Urban zones and the Indians would make it hard to feasibly do. Alas, rural ppl do not have an iota of political power.

But one can dream. My 75 year old mother is a Canadian, but she too would vote for freedom.
