How to you calculate canola seed for fall booking

How do you order canola seed. This last year I seeded at 2.5#/acre with 5g seed. I was thinking 40 bags with basf new system. Should be lots.

Your retailer will be happy to help you out and take your money. Just save some seed for the rest of us. 😎

Yes, 40 bags /640 acres will allow you to seed at the same(5.2 seeds/sq ft) or greater density.

Of course you will still need to calibrate your drill depending on what seed size you get.
According to BASF there will be 4 different bag sizes that will vary from 42.2 lbs up to 56.6 lbs.
You will need to adjust your seeding rate depending on bag size to attain your desired plant population density(unless you're seeding with a planter-then never mind)
