Interesting I have a ornightly call from a market commentator abouwheat barley canola wool meat cattle.

He just asks or regional Crop repot feed report

Topic came up of information sources he rings about 30 farmers across Australia.

And internet sites and he asked me if I’ve ever seen a site called agriville I sheepishly said yes in case o negative feedback.

Good info apart from climate change and glyphosate debate he uses it for info about current canola conditions in western Canada.

Ps crop in our state been evident from 7.5 mill tonne to 6.8 that’s all crops. Will get shaved down to 6 I reckon

To be honest I don’t give a rats toss bag about being anonymous.

I like agriville bit negative at times and not enough marketing stuff but that’s life.

NAT USA angry place nowadays and mostly for corn and bean growers I your on the outer there you get zero response.

TCF is just that combines and machinery and is ok.

Don’t really know any good marketing forums. Be good if there were some.

No real forums in oz so twitter it is for local farming info

I think people are afraid to tip their hands on marketing.

Some markets are small, fickle and easily over supplied.

Everyone would like to brag about their success in the futures market but not their failures....like casino gambling.

The talk of calls and puts....doubtful many on here use those options. If it so beneficial...I would think it would be widely adopted and practiced.

Exposing real life Indusrty marketing shortcomings(bad GrainCo practice---like asking for grain but leaving the pricing risk with the farmers, bad grading, price suppression) can come with consequences and/or the appearance of being a radical.

So...I bet this site is monitored for opinion and information far more than people think. Lots of both, but is it worth anything?

I really find Mallee's market prices interesting.

I wish there were more, or some, U.S. producers on here. If there are it's not obvious. Or European farmers.

There are some good marketing newsletters out there, some that compile information into a neat package without advice and some that analyze and advise.....

And then there's disciplined marketing, speculation, knee-jerk marketing, dumping to meet cash flow needs.
