We are kinda too close for comfort to that system given they can be a couple hundred kilometers off on their tracking estimate. We might get a bit from the rotational counterclockwise wrap- around but so so thankful we didn't get what southern Manitoba is getting.

What a way to make a living....and Unifor Sask is on strike. Unbelievable. Walk a mile in someone else's shoes, not even just farmers.....part-time workers, or lesser paid peoples' without benefits etc.

Gonna be lots of Soys, Corn and Sunflowers left out. Might get some of the Corn but the Soys are done unless we get Arizona weather for a month.
Agstar how much of the cereals do u think would be left out down there?

Saw a forecast 30 - 70 cm between Brandon and Winnipeg. Here's hoping there's a window later on, but we've seen different times over the years Halloween snow stay till spring. There's no output from the sun this year, hope that doesn't continue for a decade or two in the future, but some say it might.
I believe in two or three years, Glowbull warming will be long forgotten about.

Harvest probably over unless a miracle appears. Cereals aren’t all done in this area. Many farmers have wheat left. Lots of canola out. The odd field of soybeans have been done but by the look of the straw out the back of the combine they were far from ready. Neighbor’s corn is a month away from ready. It’s still green.

Our farm has 400 acres of standing canola left. Piles of snow but the canola is standing not bad.

While the odd farmer here is done, what’s going on inside bins is another horror story waiting to develop. There are already heated bins of canola and wheat showing up. So many straight cut canola fields done too soon, fans shutdown in bins to save money, or no aeration in cases is all waiting to haunt many.

Ya the bin situation is going to be everywhere.
Lots of very tuff , uncured grains and canola got taken off . Even with driers , there will be issues for sure . Uncured grains and oilseeds do not keep very well at the best of times .
Good luck to all , not fun on the farm at all this fall.
And no , there is no crop insurance to cover that or subsidy or any thing . Just in case some prick wants to tell farmers to no whine

Thanks Furrow. This has happened before and will again. What matters is how we respond to it. We knew we were a bit risky running one combine over 3200 acres. Got 2800 done, no dryer just aeration. It’s a bit of a stretch in MB where high humidities are frequent.

Planning for spring 2020 underway. No fertilizer on for anyone here. Will be interesting to say the least.

It looks bleak for sure but don't give up hope guys.

I don't remember the year but we got 6-8 inches of snow on Halloween night and all the canola was still in the field. This is North East Sask where winter is always early and it is usually comes around Halloween and not one person thought that crop would come off.
Three weeks later all the crop was off and the odd guy waited long enough to get it dry!

That was the miracle fall for us and i don't know if it can happen twice!
