Well, we finally after almost three months of shit weather got a week of harvesting or six days so far. Fingers and eyes are crossed we get another two weeks.

    Yea two weeks.

It's not been fun with a typical week rain, snow, fog, sun, tough harvest, almost ready, go time and then rain. Repeat. This year the heavy wet frosts overnight are not helping. Around 10:30 they start to come on the swaths or standing. But then in the morning they don't leave and dry till 1 up to 3 one day.

Last night we finished up late a lovely half section of Canola. New L501. From where I was harvesting, you could see flashing lights in every single direction.

But at this time of year, you don't get a lot done in a day. Days are short, the sun is so weak, and any time the door could shut. I realise I tried everything to get this crop in but deep down don't think well get all of it. So you pick your thickest and take them — swath on wheat the outside three rounds so easier to burn in spring.

One problem with every single neighbour for miles around still harvesting their own. You cant help someone, and you can't hire anyone. We have next week a custom crew coming but who knows. One guy is finished or will be tomorrow night. He will help his father-in-law.

    So here is the report.

We are at 63%. That sucks I know, but we are trying. `South of the valley is better, North of us about 100 km is also way better.

HRS is coming off, but some are leaving and taking canola. Moisture is sitting at 16.7 and not dropping.

Canola yields are all over the place. Late seeded is doing very good. Early seeded had issues. It still is just close to dry.

Barley that's left is sprouted and green.

    Flax is also coming off.

    Canary had a great year.

So all are hoping for two more weeks but this year who knows.

Be safe and remember its only a crop that they are working overtime to get for nothing.

Oh, yea Trudeau is his typical self.

Don't be hard on Ontario as friends in Cottage country and rural are phoning. They voted the same as us. Its the ****ing City of Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and those Newfoundlanders who came west to feed themselves on oil money when the fishing ended.

But Ralph lost, and that made my year.

Oh, the other thing about harvesting this time of year. Breakdowns aren't small they are big, and you find the weak points fast.

Still some crop to go in the area.
Grain dryers running in every yard.
Some crops taken off in the 20's both bly and canola.
        No other options.
We are done with fall N.so way better than most.
Looking forward to next yr which has to be way less of a challenge..

Propane sales are way ahead of last year according to suppliers. Partly because they all learned lessons after the 2018 logistics disaster.

Lots and lots of crop out here. Still even barley and peas out. Personally at 20% done. Area ahead of that but everything from not started to 2/3 done. Not many dryers around here and grain mostly coming off tough. Forecast dont look good, same crap since July, cold and moisture every couple days.

My crop report is based on my travel to cabri for the sale yesterday. I’d say that area is done....

Who’s ever yard the sale was at, maybe invest in some gravel.....and to the clueless farmers there thinking you were gonna buy that dryer cheap, hope you remember what I said. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I knew it was gonna go for more than new, but double? Wow.
