With two inches of snow and frozen ground harvesting and further field work are pretty iffy.
Local area looks to have well over 90% of grain in the bin or bagged.
Number of filled bags to be seen indicates third year of record production.
Dealing with amount of tough and damp grain will take edge off profitability for some.
Growers who feel cost of coverage for crop production and revenue insurance is too high and avoided it will feel vindicated and harder than ever to convince of its value.

Four plus inches of snow here. Combined wheat yesterday, testing 17, cold dry snow is better than wet warm snow. Combined better than the day before the snow that was plus 14!

I ain’t letting it be over. On to the oats today.... flax looks like it is standing best. Might get this disaster over with after all if all goes well. Lus they took all the snow out of the nearby forecast.
