Not just Trudeau.,Harper sat on his ass too. Pipelines or Railroads. Nothing was done.

Yup, Lisa Raitt couldn't get 50 thousand out of the railways and they ended up giving the railways a rubber stamped increase to move the grain into the next crop year....

Hearing estimates that Chinese pork consumption dropped 30-40% due to high prices last half '19. Slaughterhouses are slowing the kill due to the risk of loss in this blow off top event. ASF is anything but contained. This is demand destruction through price rationing, meaning get ready for even less exports of grains. This isn't going to end nicely.

Pretty sad when the market could have been infilled with north american pork until the problem was contained in Asia ....good pork from North America would have solved the problem and moved as much grain to feed the pigs here...

Even Canada could have benefitted from export of pork to china....

Instead they look for price to destroy demand across the globe....no one wins...

They were trying that but there simply wasn't enough freezer containers to get that much pork across the ocean. Logistical issue more so then trade. Chinese govt is gonna try to limit inflation at 3% but they are gonna have real issues containing food prices. HK is just the tip of the civil unrest. People get pissy when food isn't cheap

There is a floating cow feedlot vessel to move cows to different parts of the world for slaughter or grazing....

Some are lost and thrown to the oceans fish to eat ....but maybe the fish eating them will develop shark fever according to some goofy group....

The solutions are there short term if looked for....but why bother....maybe send live fed pigs direct to the slaughterhouse in China?

500M pigs were euthanized to contain the virus. Thats the ones that were killed. natural deaths, who knows what the numbers are. Grain production down as well. Imports of soy likely to continue to rise.

Trump picked the perfect time to hammer these guys. Guess eating grass wasnt an option after you have tasted the good life. Wait until they have to defend their oil supply out of the gulf.

Trump is an amazing strategist. Without firing a shot he reset the globe like nothing.

Goes without saying that rationing would be needed.

China goes through 54 MMT of pork a year, about half of world consumption

tweety . . . I can be a little stumped in the head, but I can't get my links to light up either. Have faithfully followed your directions. This forces me to piss you off and have a unlit link. Better solution may be for Agriville to look into a better system. Mind you, I can be fairly hopeless in these in these technological situations.
