We pull the 8 year old Torino till with the 1993 case 9270 .... fix more than a few heavy gangs .. hard work , not fun but it works .

It really adds to the price when they add the NH3 shanks. And apparently really adds to the power you need to pull them.

What is everyone's opinion of something like a Salford for putting on NH3 or pre working a field?

I like putting NH3 on in the fall and use a cultivator but it is slow and leaves the field rough. I few farms in the area use Salfords and they really cover ground and leave the fields smooth and nice to seed into. They can also really chop up pea vines.

After pricing a Salford with fert shanks i think i can live with the roughness.

Seldom, if you were interested in one of these your should have bought at the last saskatoom sale. Somebody dumped 4 units, 60ft i think with NH3 kits. 175,000 each. Some dealer took a bath or some farm(s) must be rolling in piles of cash to send them to auction

60' deep tiller and 90 harrow bar does wonders to prepare the seedbed.
