It couldnt exist as a dual market once people tasted the open market but it could have been transformed into a marketing and trade arm of the govt and private industry and farm groups to make sure trade flows and new markets open.

Be handy to have that organization now that we have elected a imbecile.
Ya I’m not good with words just sick of all the left bullshit they try shoving down r throats the cherry thing the climate the cwb etc etc Canada is screwrd as we know it

C’mon forage, I’ve sold more number 1 wheat since the board was dumped then before. You people”board lovers” can pool your grain any time you want. Just leave the rest of us out of it. Program needs tweaking but that is why we elect competent people onto boards to represent us. Right bucket. Soooo, that being said, lots of viewers here every day. Some of you must be close to MPs and MLA,s, or are politicians and elected grains board members. Lots of good ideas floated out by different posters but nothing is addressed, we are paying your way, start earning it.

For rage it’s better than the cwb with a one bushel quota and a initials of 75 cents.

The legacy of the prewar communist, socialism movement is still being felt.
At the least, today there is still a vacuum in our grain industry. Attitude, education, leadership.
A5 asks the better question. What is better under pure socialism?

I will say this.....somewhere in the middle there was a workable solution for all farmers.....

More info as to what the industry was doing and some accountability along with coordination of movement....

But that's not going to happen ....

To think there were no games being played while the CWB was in existence would be incredibly naive!

The only games being played during CWB years was by the Americans.

OK... I guess you've placed yourself quite firmly into the naive camp.

There have been very few periods in history when you could make a go of it with 25% equity.

In my experience, those with 25% equity are on an elevator ride down to the bottom.

FCC/AFSC gladly taking dad's and granddad's equity so that the only real equity the borrower has is the principle payment they make every year and the logarithmic appreciation. Hell, FCC and AFSC are so damned sure that past results are indicative of future returns, that they don't even require proof of crop insuance as a condition of loan approval anymore!
