This needs to change or we will continue to be dictated to and have no real voice in western Canada

California has 2 senators
Montana has 2 senators
North Dakota has 2 senators

Abolish the senate. Adopt some form of proportional representation so that everybodys vote counts. Canada needs to modernize its antiquated democracy.

We don't need appointed partisans at the senate trough making decisions that can be made by democratically elected representatives.

The US system is dysfunctional. Why should the state of North Dakota with a population of 760,000 have as much political power in the senate as the State of California with a population of 40 million? That's absurd.

Great ideas. Implementation is the only small problem. When the current system benefits those with all the power, so they have no impetus to change it, and those who would benefit from revising the system, have absolutely no chance of obtaining power under the current system, therefore no way to affect change..

Sounds really good when you say it though, doesn't it.
