Interesting article on overhauling world Ag.

Lots I don't agree with, but much I do. I thought it worth a read anyway.

Yeah you lost me at Naomi Klein, read the Leap manifesto once, its all about moving back into caves.

Those people advocate for the factors of survival, food, shelter, health, energy to be under govt control. Not interested.

So why would there be any inflation if this parity agriculture created such a wonderfully balanced system?

look like she is nuts, but there are forces at work in Europe to make them all organic by 2035.

For the skimmers - maybe try reading it again? It's not an article about or by Naomi Klein. She was only mentioned as the person who popularized the idea of "disaster capitalism" - an example of which was outlined later in the article which I've pasted below.
It's a valid question and one that is asked often here on Agriville.

"How can agribusiness and their commodity front group answer this question: When companies like DuPont and Monsanto deliver their technology like herbicide resistant crops along with their herbicides and pesticides to South America and other continents to chew up rainforest, savannah, and grassland increasing the global supply of corn and soybeans, why should any country stand by and let its farmers go broke from the resulting low “world price” benchmarked at the Chicago Board of Trade? Obviously they shouldn’t but international trade rules force multiple problems on every country and every farmer around the world."

So we should rotate to more hay and pasture. But aren't we supposed to reduce meat consumption? There are so many conflicting thoughts, that this almost useless. Farmers should be rewarded for doing more with less but instead we are punished with smaller margins!!

Overhaul World Ag? Oh yeh, I’d like to overhaul a lot of things, but not necessarily World Ag. It would help if the Rooskies would got backwards about 20 years. 😂 or Maybe they should go solar.

All written and followed by people who freak out when 1 of 20 different fruits from all over the world are out of stock at the local grocery store. Your seeing why history repeats itself. Can watch this almost like it’s slow motion. It won’t stop until there is a famine. Already would be in Europe if they didn’t have the rest of the world to import from.

Note the question of maintaining soil organic matter and suggestion that organic farming is better.
Pretty hard to reconcile with all the straw bales waiting to be hauled off land in areas around us.
Even worse is amount of straw still burned prior to seeding next crop.

Suddenly this weekend, central banks have been authorized to attack climate change.

This climate agenda is going to be crammed down our throats without any thought to our financial well being. There will be a lot of money made by a few people but not us farmers. All the tools we use today to farm economically are endangered under this new scheme.
