Feed Wheat Falling Number

our lowest falling number (205) has 17.1 protein , .07 % SS, fwiw

And there is the issue. If the 7 gram sub sample happens to include flour from one or two whole kernels that were included in that .07% SS verses a representative portion that doesn't contain any you are going to get different results. SS is based on 50 gram min FN is based on 7 gram.

Wonder what net profit is on feed barley compared to Malt the last few years? All figured in quality risk and holding costs until called etc.

Now some of our wheat will make a 2 , but there is a deduction because the falling number this particular time is 285
Now this is a deduction from a # 2
This particular pail of wheat has had falling numbers from 237-337 , same ****ing pail, with canada grain commission being 295
But there is no added premium for the wheat we have thats 395 falling number
So there you have it , we have a new deduction and no new premium to add to our price ?
I dont give a **** what theyre paying me , this is bullshit , pure and simple
Anyone recall seeing falling number requirements on wheat contracts before ??
And what the **** is severe sprouts level at a microscopic amount of .01% at ???
This is the same game they used to play with ergot till the fuz windfall came along
Now ergot doesnt matter , but sprouts do because fuz has backed off ?
Sick of the game , why in **** cant a guy just get a fair shake ?

It’s a f ing joke. Sometimes I wonder if it’s not only elevator co itself pulling the bullshit but also up the chain. With the CGC running around with the potency of a gomer it’s a free for all. Transparency needs to be legislated as obviously it isn’t there. Funny how off the combine your wheat flows in to the elevator with little trouble but the same stuff later on gets picked apart. We are lucky to have lots of buyers and decent movement on most crops. Still it’s fun to see the certain ones whom are first to go on the bs bandwagon and those who tend to be more fair.

I simply feel that there are areas that can yield the Malt under less expense than here. Obviously too much around.
Top it off with storing it for a year.
$1 spread isn't enough here anymore.
And I made it every year. But to do that you have to do twice the work and expense.
