The results of the exit poll, if backed by the results as they roll in through the night, will be a huge boost for Boris Johnson and a disaster for Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party.

For Prime Minister Johnson, it provides him with the numbers to ‘Get Brexit Done’, and a big enough majority that he can choose to sideline some of the more hard-line Brexiteers.

We can’t see the detailed projections by seat yet, but the gain of 50 seats suggests the Conservatives will have made inroads into Labour’s ‘red wall’ northern heartland.

And with a projected 55 seats for the Scottish National Party, the result could put Independence back on the political agenda.
No surprise on the Johnson win as Corbyn was totally unelectable - and I think it really is a reflection of that rather than wanting to get Brexit "done" as the divisions remain as wide as ever on that file. Awful result for Scotland as the opportunists will spin this as an excuse for another referendum in pursuit of independence which there really isn't an appetite for - in reality it's just the electorate giving Corbyn a kicking in Scotland too rather than supporting the SNP.

That's a really fair assessment of the situation Grass. No sarcasm intended on this end, you are just calling it as it is. Kudos. It'll be interesting to watch the acceptance of democracy moving forward....

Trump’s ‘dud of a trade deal’ with China just shows the futility of a tariff war . . . . And a big jump in U.S. jobless claims reported today, a fresh two (2) year high.

Interesting discussion on tv about uk election and conservative govt worldwide

Aust went increase to conservatives when all said left would win , uk swing to right, trump will be new and neck NZ suggestions are socialist govt on the nose out after one term

Canada got mentioned and term unique was used and doubts aired if conservatives would eve govern again in Canada so against the trend.

If France ever moved along way to right coul create a wave of conservative govt

All interesting thought you guy might enjoy a view of Canadian govt fom abroad

New trade blocks are developing and like-minded countries are joining on. Celebrities and the media endorsed the loser in Britain and he got spanked so good. The USA is playing the same game the Democrats don't get that they are going to go down in flames come fall. Canada we elected a shit for brains and were screwed because he laughed at the USA president.

Ah, skippy stay home you do less damage.

The British are our allies, founding peoples and fellow commonwealth nation. WTH isn't Trudeau in there offering them a trade deal? Cant go against his globalist slavemasters I guess.

Errol its positive Friday. I still think the USA will get a deal eventually and Canada will be left out in the cold with it do nothing on trade tactics. Explain why I am right. China needs the USA and they Need China.
