was thinking about the amount of money bucket was referring to in an earlier post !!!!!!!!!
could you imagine the power farmers would have with this amount of money , instead of this divide and conquer and service industry supporting shit that is going on now ? WTF IS STOPPING US ??? from asking for all of it back and starting a "united front for farmers" with this money ??????
this is a huge wad of cash and they're just rubbing our noses in it and using it against us ?
we don't need anymore yield in any of these commodities, thats not to help us , only to work against us
the whole check off industry is bizarre and a huge kick in the nuts to farmers

Got my Wheat, canola and flax check off back. First year I ever asked for it back.

I have never asked for any back yet but thinking I should since I don’t see any benefits from any of those groups. All I see is pic’s on Twitter of them wining and dining.
Just sent out my alfalfa seed and they grab .0125 cents per lb.
My wife has to head out in the cold off to work for almost 2 weeks to make that back!

Just tell your neighbours what you just said....and maybe they will tell a few people ...then come to the AGM to support the resolutions and maybe get the SPG actually representing farmers instead of industry....

Why should there be a deadline ....they take the money on every cheque without asking...do you guys like just have it taken or would you like to be asked to pay the checkoff...

I think while you are cashing up at the elevator you should be able to say how much you want to donate based on the value provided.....


Asking for something back once they have taken it is harder than just saying "no" to begin with...and they make it that way for a reason....

Canola and wheat are ONLY available if you request in the Aug 1-31 window. Canola requires you ask for a new form each year, they mail it, but you can FAX back. Wheat is available to print on line, much simpler. Cheques came in October.

i always get my check offs back as i dont like paying for others palm spring vacations. As for the forms, most organizations dont provide on line, and have varying deadline dates based on delivery dates. real pain in the ass, but its worth it to keep my own money.

Canola council has a meeting in vancouver , march 3/20 at the hyatt regency , right in the heart of canola country , supporting a city that hates modern farming practices and fossil fuels
You can bet we are paying part of this though sask canola check offs and i would imagine we will pay to send sask canola delegates there
