To the surprise of nobody with any awareness of what is going on, a new report in the Financial Post, says that the deficit for the current and next fiscal year will be much higher than projected at budget time. Prior to the election, propaganda was that canuckistan was growing. Well most know and are confirmed correct, that economic growth outside the Prairie region is just government spending. Is there any real economic growth going on anywhere in the country any more? Real economic growth would be projects with minimal government involvement. Investment in seed breeding due to a seed tax does not qualify.

All i Can think of for economic growth would be Grow op's and pot store's. Not sure if that's qualifiers with the government involvement.

Far leftist governments will never understand that adding government jobs, supporting welfare and promotion of drug use only drains an economies wealth . Deficits balloon under that system.
One needs wealth creating industries to flourish to sustain a health economy. Canada was a great exporting country.... that’s gone now .

Yup, lots of pot shops and Rub-N-Tugs in Regina now......lots of highs and lows and ups and downs in those sectors of the economy.

One of the biggest mega projects in the country starts about May 1 and ends about Nov1 and creates huge economic benefits for the country and government hardly acknowledged it’s going on.
It almost looks like the Liberal government would like to eliminate that mega project altogether.Last edited by seldomseen; Dec 16, 2019, 15:15.

And if we are on the cusp of a nasty recession or massive increase in debt or both, will the voters who put Trudeau back in even know or care?
If you immigrated from Somalia or some other failed state, how would you even recognize a modern G7 economy being driven off a cliff. You will probably vote for pretty hair again.
We are so fd. Its unreal.
mark my word, the separation option will come back to the table more seriously soon. It will be the only way to escape the anchor of the ROC.
Skippy will go for a snap in the spring. Better get that CPC leader in there and up to speed a lot faster.

The risk isn't so much that interest costs will increase, it's that the bond market breaks and the availability on rolling debt forward and issuing new debt evaporates. Think of the unfunded promises. If taxes increased to 100% it wouldn't even come close as investment would leave overnight
Not that we(Canada) is an empire but what haven't we checked off the list?
