Friday end of the Week Wrap up on a Thursday.

Well, Christmas is almost here and its time for Family friends and good cheer. May 2020 bring you health happiness and a great crop.

So in the News Trump gets impeached. No really what happened is the public in the USA is so pissed at the Democrats that this 3-year witch hunt just gave trump 2020.

Now in Canada Trudeau's favourite company next to a long list of Quebec companies gets fined $280 million. Wow, aren't we a proud nation that this is one of our great taxpayer-backed companies.

In other federal news, the Ag minister and her provincial ministers had a big meeting and they discussed farming with Business, seed companies, insurance companies grain companies. Ah, it seems no farmer group had a voice at the table. All this useless group could come up with was a pilot project in Manitoba and a big **** you to western Canola farmers and more study study study. Oh on the carbon tax maybe instead of wondering how it is affecting farmers just get farmers to send in the dryer bills with a 20% carbon tax attached to each bill.

Now the other thing was the Go get private insurance. HAHAHA can anyone guess how many people actually use these insurance companies in western Canada the low number would make your head shake? But follow the money on who is advising Prov and Fed Ministers and who is going to sit on these insurance boards after they are done politics. It's all about following the money. Insanity at its best. BOBOO is standing with us farmers is total bullshit.

Oh, Saskatchewan doesn't get off easy either. Why didn't our minister stand and give it to them that we were hurt to the tune of $2.50 a bushel thanks to Trudeau and company and something like the dairy should be done? No, they go to the meeting and say farmers don't want a subsidy. What farmer doesn't? Maybe a die-hard liberal or someone that doesn't know the history and the 90s are back with Ottawa saying lots and doing nothing.

Moe wants money for 2020 I say keep shitting on rural and you might get one heck of a surprise. No check for you MR Moe this year. I'm not impressed with the AG situation.

Markets are in a holding pattern as the USA and China have some sort of stage one deal but the devil is in the details, no one knows whats going on. I still think the two will work it out as both need each other. China needs a place for there shit and the USA needs to make farmers happy. In Canada, skippy can't spell farmer so were screwed.

I love the latest carbon tax bill one farmer posted and it should go viral. 7500 or more is Carbon tax then add the GST and its a win-win.

Oh, skippy is going to punish some provinces but he still feels like he understands why he was shut out of the west. Skippy is cutting back on the rebate to people in Sask because we're such a bad province. Western Hate will grow skippy not get better.

So I'm sitting in an airport in Winnipeg waiting for my flight south. Ah, Winnipeg how could you have voted in a Liberal. Ah right you get what 2 billion out of the equalization fund and Oquebec gets 13 yet the rest of the provinces get piss all. Ah, its follow the money time again.

The grain is moving and trains are loading and elevators some experts say are making a clear dollar plus a bushel profit above elevation and handling so its a win-win year for grain companies and who is advising gov follow the money.

Maybe we need to get our money back on check offs because our groups that represent farmers have been slipping for a way to many years and let these other focus groups take control of our industry.

Now by the news the other day I would say a lot of people are phoning and complaining to there farm groups as all finally are waking up and realizing being nice with the Federal Gov and some Prov. gov has done nothing to help AGriculture but actually hurt it more each year. Waiting for the train when they said your plane is leaving is Canadian Ag groups.

Can these groups pick up the pace and get back in control of the situation, I think it will be a very hard uphill battle. To much damage has been done because of being nice. Nice guys finish last is so true.

Well its time to board so again

    Merry Christmas
    and a
    Very Happy new year.

Oh its also getting really really dry in Argentina and with the tax they are increasing farmers are going to have it hard. Not like Canada but close.

Grain growers of Canada also came out and said the meeting with BOBOO was awful and farmers are left in the cold. The Canadian wheat growers also said the same thing yesterday. Oh, the Canola growers are off skiing or unavailable. It's Christmas why to worry about farmers.

One really big positive is Fertilizer prices are dropping in the USA and dropping hard.

If your buying don't let them tell you that this is the price because by Feb it will be cheaper yet.

I received an email from the SaskParty to be a first time donor....I usually just delete this stuff but actually replied saying they don't even have my vote right now with the lack of interest shown in ag so why the hell would I donate.

Oh GM closes up its Oshawa plant today. Way to go Gerry on supporting Trudeau in the election and getting 3000 workers no job. Unions are so smart.

Remember sunny ways the economy is working just fine and all is good. CBC and news tell us every day but Canada loses 77000 jobs last month what will it be in Dec. Oh, a minor deficit is now 29 billion. Ah, they are great with math.

In Manitoba next to no fertilizer was applied last fall. The situation is the same in Minn and ND. Logistics are going to be a nightmare. Dealers will not be able get enough supply on time and the Johnny Come Lately's will get a real eye opener when they try to get product in the spring.

I Always buy fertilizer in the fall and have save money all but one time in 25 years . So you go a head and play that game SK3, but I'm willing to bet that you have already started to buy fertilizer for the spring. Your a big talker the majority of time and you don't Walk the Talk.

By the way you ranting on here how bad things are in Agriculture (which they ARE ) while sitting in Wpg airport to go South doesn't paint that picture to all the Lurkers from all the other organizations reading Agriville.

Try to be Humble on occasion.

Bought fert couple days ago .... yes prices are lower but so are our commodity prices. I’m happy with the deal I swung, couldn’t have gotten any cheaper. Priced 8 retailers interesting to see who needs the business and who doesn’t.
Most are sitting waiting at their desk for the phone to ring.
Seeding plans are set for 2020 .... there may be the odd tweak here or there.
No tweeking to the canola acres .... STILL ZERO!!

And anyone who doesn’t share his certain political point of view he calls a disease and cancer!

People like this who complain all the time but are obviously well off are not humble. They consider themselves entitled. And if things don’t work out it is always somebody else’s fault.

I certainly think humility is an admirable trait, my Dad always told me that "discretion is the better part of valor", I always considered that good advice.

Fertilizer prices have softened since September, the big companies like Nutrien certainly did their best to create a narrative as to why they should go up but the reality of lower prices south of the border finally won out. Certainly with lower commodity prices it was necessary.

As far as government help, that is a tough one. I haven't been in Agristability for I think 3 years. Crop insurance does nothing when you have crop out. I have both cattle and grain making Agristability really a waste of time. Should government compensate farmers for lower commodity prices? I don't have that answer. I do know with the carbon tax and the upcoming seed tax it appears that the government is more interested in increasing the cost to farm than it is in helping us out!!!!

If it weren't for BTOs half of sask would be getting planted back to grass.

But maybe that's the actual plan all along.

I agree a lot of that land shouldnt have been plowed under in the first place, but numbers is king. So dont complain about price and yield.

Horse your full of horseshit!!! $7500 in carbon tax in only 60 fills on a 1000gal tank. You might dry 500,000 bushels, so maybe 10,000 acres. That is a average size farm nowdays. Horse you probably have a retired school teacher pension and a NDP membership so no complaining from you.
