Nah just leave them wondering. Like the time we baled greenfeed for bale grazing and kicked the bales out with no twine on 80 acres along the highway. That sure stirred things up for a while. 😉

How many bu a day of rolled barley are you feeding? I like the idea of the seed tank. We had a unit that we used back in the day of discer seeding.

Here in my spot Barley for me in 2019.

Wheat frost affected cut yield as was canola.

Going foward into 20 maybe more barley acres mind you an get forwards for $295 on farm for wheat NOW for dec 20.

You guys got good cash prices looking at you in the eye for next harvest?

Aiming for 5 pounds a piece so about 8,000 pounds a day. Haven’t calibrated it yet to figure out how much it puts out since everyone here has been under the weather but maybe tomorrow things can get back to normal ............. hopefully 😉

Used to be a few neighbors aiming for that market(Japan, though, not UAE), but weather generally had other plans. And because Japan wanted the timothy to be late, nearly ripe, it didn't have great food value, so if it didn't make the export grade, and had to be sold locally, it wasn't worth as much as it could have been if cut on time. Is that the case with UAE as well?

It is interesting how it changes year to year. Last year yellow peas were my most profitable followed by CPS and then canola. This year canola is number 1 followed by CPS wheat then very close in third feed barley. My least profitable crop this year was yellow peas.

Different market and specs. Have to cut right at or just before flower and needs to be very green... Specs are demanding but so is the profit.
