    Cultivated Meat

This is the real threat to the meat industry, not Beyond Beef.

Careful guys, we have seen what can happen when SJW unite behind a narrative coupled with a potentially disruptive technology.

I am hearing less than 10yrs to consumer scale adoption.

I suggest they call this product "Beyond Stupid" - it's a marketing disaster. The idea of growing "food" in a lab utilizing GMO technology - who's the customer? You won't get the vegans, the SJWs or the people who currently enjoy beef or beef products. If it's the dumb consumer who lives on a diet of cheap, processed crap already this won't pencil due to production costs.

If this “beyond” thing takes even 25% of the market share it will destroy massive amounts of wealth in agriculture. The demand destruction in feed grains will be huge not to mention what it’s gonna do to meat producers

I think that too, mostly. But there are enough urban type people detached from agriculture and nature that may find this appealing. Labeling as "lab" grown may be poor word choice but marketed as an alternative to killing the cute and cuddlies or marketed as a safer product without risk of ecoli, salmonella etc may create a market. Not to mention, non farting meat for the climate crusaders.

I hope you are right it's a non issue but not willing to bet on it at this point.

I tasted Beyond Meat two days ago. It is initially tasteless but leaves a lasting taste in the mouth that is unpleasant; an abnormal taste.

I wanted to taste it for myself. I ate “chicken” flavoured formations.

Not preceded by other flavours or food.

It was a total fail. I would never buy It. You recognize your body is flagging the taste buds with “don’t eat, don’t eat” pars

On a product to product head on challenge regular beef probably has an advantage, but there is a movement behind clean meat as they call it. That's very hard to compete against.

It's even projected to eventually be cheaper than regular beef.

After asking around at fast food outlets serving Beyond burgers I think its safe to say 50%++ of them ended up in the garbage can never being served.

I think Beyond Meat share chart will look like the Rocket when they realize they don"t have repeat orders and the big contracts don't get renewed.

Everybody jumped on the bandwagon because they were afraid to miss out but the product wasn't good enough.

I see A&W has plant based ‘nuggets’ available now.

I agree evolution will not be kind to the males eating their soy based diet with their estrogen dominance and man boob development. Expect to see bras for men in store shelves in the next few years.

The whole issue of Burger King getting sued via class action by the vegan club for grilling their Impossible Burgers on the same grill as the beef burgers (to give them flavor) is just the start of the fun. I hope they destroy BK.

Always interesting reading what the 0.001% demographic of the population think.

Any of you realize "beyond products" use commodities grown on farms?

Careful what you wish for. Those lawsuits are extending further and further and may eventually land at your door step.

In india its illegal to kill a cow for religious reasons. Its illegal to kill Canada goose here. See where its going?

25 yrs ago, the climate radical group was about that big. Now its probably a quarter of the population or more.

Jazz, you post more factually inaccurate information than anyone else on the site. You don't realize that India has a cattle slaughter sector processing close to 40 million head a year (compared to Canada's under 4 million)??
