    WASDE Report

    Jan WASDE report market mover?

For me hard not be slightly bullish. Beans Corn still standing canada crop still standing oz crop well....pp acres china trump deal probably will get to phase one at least, but gotta love the usda rabbit out of the hat perhaps.

Or is it all in the demand outlook?

Planting intentions are not factored into this report? Expert opinion needed there.

Read some were in last 50 years jan report has been bullish 75% of time but that doesnt always translate into higher prices market does what the market does but move is often down the time line a month or so and chart gurus help?

    Good god another marketing post

Mallee, important Jan USDA report to be released. General trader slant appears to be bullish. But have been in this business long enough to know when everyone is on one side of the ship, get to the other side. This sets-the-stage for a potential surprise.

Beans are hitting some recent highs south of the border. Appears to be a solid hedging opportunity for U.S. growers. Of note, May canola $490 (at-the-money) puts traded under $11/MT today. Solid protection for canola unpriced in the bin.

‘Phase One’ trade deal may be more ‘Fizzle One’ trade deal as China has already indicated there may be little to no increase in American ag purchases. We’ll see.

The bull needs to be fed tomorrow (IMO) . . . .

I agree there needs to be some bullish news or we're into the doldrums.

Corn will get enough support to keep it from going down. Sideways it is
Soybeans seem heavy in here. May be the biggest downer
Chicago wheat has the best chance of staying on the present positive trend. MW not so much
My take. I will be proved wrong, I'm sure

On another note, the Dow Jones bull broke out of the fence again....

Read this morning wheat acres USA lowest since 1900 add less acres in Canada wheat has little reason to ease.

Beans corn seems clouded either way bullish or bearish

Seems they didn't like the numbers they came up with by using the regular methodology..... so they just cranked it up a bunch. We are in no man's land folks. Wait for the "Oh phuck" moment that they are hoping farmers will bail them out on by over producing.
