Crap in your grain is a wild life claim. You get paid for cleaning it up to make a salable product. Doesn't matter if you are over production guarantee.

Wildlife claim does as you say clean the grain, it also pays for trampling/ eating etc. It is paid for by federal money not the provincial crop insurance programs. If you dont have insurance you can still get the wildlife coverage. The crappy part that is catching a few guys in Alberta, if you have or will be compensated for your production guarantee they will not pay a wildlife claim even though it is a separate pot of money and not a requirement to have insurance.

What I mean is if you were hailed and it came back or in the case of unharvested peas they are going to write them off so no wildlife on those acres. But if you only have 60 or 70% coverage you aren't getting the whole value for your crop already but that is the limit because you have coverage but those that dont are not limited.

There is also a cents/bu limit on cleaning costs too.

Maybe the they should quit adding dockage because China doesn’t want it. I guess it’s just part of their game to get it off the farmer for cheaper

I am kind of surprised no one has mentioned a very recent Western Producer article: Canola seed prices not equal. A good read and a bit of an eye opener as to how badly retailers screw over farmers.

FBN is asking questions, and the canola council refuses to comment. Again, the canola council showing its support for the retailers and not for farmers. Saskatchewan farmers grow the most canola and generate the majority of revenues for the canola council. Isnt it time to get rid of this organization?

Farmers are supposed to accept the prices we receive for our grain based on a subsidized open market priced in the states....but there is no one monitoring the prices of inputs....

Fertilizer makes an imaginary trip to NOLA and between any of the western canadian fertilizer plants and a farm within 100 miles of the plant gains an extra 200 dollars a tonne ...just because...

Canola seed priced on what the market will bear is an admitted collusionary tactic by all seed providers....they talk to each other...

The government will say you can't interfere in private business but is just another admission of incompetence because they always have the cheque book ready for companies like Morris, AGT etc....
