Electric vehicles are very energy efficient

Electric car Energy requirement is about 3.3 cents per mile when electricity
    costs 10 cents per kWh

Meanwhile a gasoline vehicle with an energy efficiency of
22 miles per gallon costs about 15.9 cents per mile when gasoline costs $3.50 per gallon

Some electric vehicles, such as the EV1 from General Motors, had energy efficiencies of over 6 miles per kWh under some testing. So the energy cost would be about 1.7 cents per mile for this vehicle.

Google road tax added to EV cost, Gov's getting their share because that ridiculously CHEAP per mile is NOT contributing to roads. EV weigh more, wear on roads is greater than gas powered. Enjoy now soon be equal costs.

So in reality a Honda Civic that gets 36 mpg ave at $3.50 is around .09 / mile
While the EV car at .42/ kWh is .12 / mile

When using real comparison numbers .

$3.50 a gallon has over $1.50 tax in it and more if you include indirect taxes

According to gas buddy the price of car gas in Saskatoon and Regina ranges from $4.65 to $4.90 a gallon.

                  https://www.gasbuddy.com/GasPrices/Saskatchewan/Saskatoon

Electricity rates in Manitoba are about 8.6 cents per kWh and 15 cents per kWh in Sask

The ability to do math helps. Why deal in hyperbole?

Who on this form pays 42 cents per kwh for electricity .

How many farmers on this form drive a Honda Civic?

We drive an accord, close enough.
