    Social Mobility Index

The World Economic Forum just released a new ranking of social mobility. Rankings are based on 5 criteria: 1. Health; 2. Education (access, quality and equity, lifelong learning); 3. Technology; 4. Work (opportunities, wages, conditions); 5. Protection and Institutions (social protection and inclusive institutions). Besides better quality of life, high ranking countries also provide better opportunities for upward mobility. Out of the 82 ranked countries Canada comes in number 14. Australia comes in at 16th. US ranks 27th - behind Portugal even . So much for the much heralded American dream.

Like the UN that group also looks down on rich industrious free thinking democracy lovers like in the US.

Socialist sheep that do their globalist bidding get preferred treatment. Whoever swallows the globalist line best goes to the front of the rankings. Surprised Justin isn't #1.

Lots of name calling but no real rebuttal of the list. Look at it his way. If you were to move your family to another country, not for retirement, but to start a new life, how many of the countries of the top 26 countries above the US would you consider. Now ask yourself the question of the 26 countries (numbers 28-54) would be on your list of a great place to get a new start and to raise your family.

There isn't a country on that list except the US that I would move to. Highest per capita income on the planet first of all, least regulated with idiot policy, freedom loving patriotic people with the number one democracy and economy. Capitalist and industrious and super highly talented people on the cutting edge.

Whats Sweden invented lately? WTF has Canada invented lately?

For me none. I would go to the US if I had a chance primarily for work opportunities and milder winter weather. My mom's husband, (dad passed 17 years ago) has 4 children. 3 live in the Us (married US citizens) and one in NZ, No sign they will return to canuckistan. Wife's cousin now lives in Nashville from Spruce Grove AB. Do know of a farmer recently relocated to Montana from SK, but they had pre existing ties to the US to facilitate immigration. As Jazz has pointed out, canuckistan has no economy. It is just feeding on the carcass until the meat is gone. The corpse being natural resources and the credit rating. The kids get to find this out first hand so their future is bleak.

Sounds to me like dml has been dining on expensive liberal doughnuts.

You make a good point dml, I would not consider anything above Canada, one country in between Canada and the USA , the USA and several below.

First of all, what does this post have to do with anything on an agricultural forum? Or even anything we have previously been discussing? It seems that it was presented as a response to something?

But more importantly, if you compare their rankings to the economic reality, then you have confused the equal distribution of poverty with the unequal distribution of wealth. Ambitious people have been fleeing the poverty of the former system for the opportunities of the latter, and voting with their feet.

According to some on on Agriville, America is only the greatest when Trump and the Republicans are in the Whitehouse. Once the Democrats hold more of the levers of power I am sure it will not be the utopia you are dreaming of!

Well you just had to go and raise that nasty little question, didn't you.

Spoiled a perfectly orchestrated narrative with stubborn fact....
