Death vs Recovered is 47% in Italy significantly worse than a few days ago. Not a good trend especially since their icu's are now full. US deaths vs recovered ratio is even worse. Not sure how these numbers will ever drop to low single digits. This could and likely will play out over many years.

What is your take on the report that Germany is in between Spain and Iran for total case counts but only 5% of deaths.
Iceland and Faeroe Islands have a greater amount of cases relative to their population size than almost anywhere. No deaths

There is nothing to argue about.

Because the virus came from animal transfer, its a zoonotic virus that easily jumps between species and started in bats. The wet markets like in Wuhan are excellent breeding spots to transfer to humans, which is exactly how SARS started in 2002.

FT would surmise that it's much like South Korea in that it has been testing abundantly. Also german demographics are slightly younger.

I will say German death rate has been inching up as of late though... If you take the numbers post 10+ recorded deaths, german death rate had a bottom at .22%, and currently sits at .35% but has been increasing by ~0.05% daily.

Seems to me that Italy has a much higher infection rate than is currently reported. Who know's where Germany will settle out at for a death rate... South Korea has been inching up, even with intensive testing to the point where they are at 1.18%, so is that what Germany has to look forward to? Perhaps the final number will come in somewhere between Germany and South Korea, lets just say 0.75% for arguements sake...

As of yesterday they had tested about 20,000 with an infection rate of less than 1%.

That is about 25% of the testing in Canada. I assume with a later start?

The 1% may indicate they have a much lower restrictions on who gets tested.

They also show the highest positives among the 20-30 age group.

I have no opinion one way or the other on conspiracy theories, and certainly do not dismiss BL's views.
