So if the clutch goes in your tractor and you send it away to get fixed do you only complain about the $700 clutch parts not the labour, shop supplies, trucking that bring your total repair bill up to $12,000? By the examples shown it's only 15-17% of the total bill.

My guess is the fuel for drying grain will be exempted shortly anyway - likely a mistake that it was included in the first place by clueless politicians of all parties. Even the Green Party has come out in favour of exempting the fuel used to dry grain.

This carbon tax issue has been a diversionary tactic for 6 months....

Scott Moe's government dedicated taxpayers money of 40 bucks an acre for 5 years for irrigation....he could have paid the carbon tax for grain drying and then asked for a refund from the federal government ...

I believe grassfarmer and the NFU policy are actually in favour of the carbon tax.

Very much so, many press releases on the NFU website stating their support for the CO2 tax, and requesting intervenor status in the provinces court challenge, intervenor on the side of the federal government, because:

Because it is such a dire climate emergency, and nearly everything they publish reinforces that, but, as usual, this only applies to otherpeople, so they want to be exempted so they can continue to destroy the planet, while virtue signalling about what everyone else needs to do to save it.

After berating us dumb farmers constantly about it being our fault for not demanding our provinces do something about the CO2 tax on grain drying, instead of blaming the feds like we do, his very own organization has been insisting that the provinces shouldn't have any say in the matter, only the feds.

Which all begs the question, can the atmosphere really differentiate between the CO2 that a farmer releases drying grain vs. the CO2 that an NFU member releases flying to their national conventions to discuss the perils of climate change? And if not, why should grain dying be exempt in the face of such an existential crisis?

We are gonna watch a giant test run of burning less oil in China, there's traffic bans, flight cancellations, industry to skidding to a halt. Let's watch what this costs. 50000 gal of fuel in a 747, average burn on a 10 hour flight is 36000 gal. China has run their debt as high or higher then any developed nation in the world. I think they are gonna do a Chinexit into smaller states and this'll knock the legs out of any country depending on crude exports to pay the interest on their debt. Estimates on peak infection are April/May with infections doubling every 6.2 days. It's not so much the death rate as the infection as the breaking of supply chains worldwide. Those bearings for your combine come from China. IF, because at this point idk, this drags out for 100 days, it'll break the supplychain on so many items on shelves in Walmart, JD, CNH, GM and Ford causing a short term burst of supply inflation that hasnt been seen in our lifetimes. There is real risk the world economy is built upon a country that squats to take a crap and waters their livestock in the same hole. I don't think there's gonna be mountains of dead like Mao did, but it'll be the supply chain fracturing that's the real issue. Maybe we should of sold them a toilet instead of the last boat load of canola. Here is a quote from a NFU press release they sent to environment minister Jonathan Wilkinson "outlining the urgent need for a rebate on pollution pricing fees currently being charged on natural gas and propane used for on-farm grain drying." This sentence raises a couple of issues, what the f#*# is a pollution pricing fee? Call a spade a spade!!! It is a tax!!!! Second if this rebate only applies to on-farm grain drying what happens to someone like myself who does not have a dryer and gets his grain dried at the elevator?
