“It’s comparable to having 12 per cent of your paycheque disappear in a year,” APAS president Todd Lewis said in a statement.

don't forget this is in addition to a 45% drop already

The average farm of 5000 acres will pay up to an additional 15000 in expenses directly related to the carbon tax....RAilway, input delivery everything coming and going from a farm....

Don't really know how hard it is to understand for the federal ag minister when the liberals ( goodale) said farming would be excluded from the carbon tax....

I’ll say it again Trudeau is the cancer that is destroying canada. First he destroyed Oil then mining, forest and now Ag. God he is a hero. Who voted for these morons? Oh yea the GTA Montreal and Maritimes.

Not sure what you guys are compaining about, the carbon tax did exactly what it was supposed to do. Farmers costs went up, profitability down and now its crickets at the dealers and input companies and retail outlets. I am sure emissions will be plummetting now. Maybe the CEO of Nutrien or RP or Viterra can put a call into skippys office now.

That is what it is going to take to see any relief....Its not about individual farmers...its about shareholders return....

The average unionized government worker would be having an absolute meltdown if they took a 12% pay cut.

Unifor (Co-op) was offered a 12% raise over 3 years and rejected it.

What was the profit margin on most farms before carbon tax ? 10-15% at best ?
