The blades are glass or carbon fibre composites

Maybe they are planting them like the tree 🌲 incentive...... hopefully they grow into nice new windmills 👌
Or maybe they should make boats out of them for eco nuts to tour the oceans with and tell the rest of us to keep paying carbon tax to support new windmills and stop leaving a mess for future generations.
          Just wondering is all ....

Maybe putting them in the ground is the new carbon sequestration program. Win win situation to me!

Those useless blades should be buried in the back yards, of the various homes, of Al Gore and David Suzuki,,, and of course chucky et al.

Just more proof of the dishonesty of the left !

Its great to see so many Agriville posters concerned about the environment by raising end of use plans for industry.

In Alberta the biggest cleanup issue by far is all the abandoned, orphaned and suspended oil and gas wells.

Along with the tar sand mines and tailing ponds the projected cots of the cleanup will be in the billions of dollars. The oil industry in many cases is walking away from their responsibilities for cleanup and taxpayers will be stuck paying for cleanup costs.

The Alberta Auditor General is taking a close look at the issue.

That's right. Change the subject, and redirect. No need to deal with hard questions.

They will big digging lithium and oil out of those old wells with a fracking program. Not a liability yet, except in CBCs mind.

You and Chuck beat me to it. I was going to say that this is not the way to attack the green energy scam, because there are similar long term environmental consequences for every energy source, or resource extraction humans do. When the fossil fuel industry is eventually eclipsed, or exhausted, all the pipelines and well casings will remain in the ground(the metal ones will eventually corrode, the plastic or composite may last as long as the blades though, all the wastes pumped into deep wells will remain. Nuclear waste will remain for even longer. The scars from mining etc etc.

But as caseih so correctly points out, the difference is, that unlike wind or solar, in exchange for the environmental legacy of fossil fuels, or nuclear, they powered and enabled civilization on a global scale for centuries already, and likely for centuries to come.

I would be willing to accept that windmills and solar panels have unintended and negative environmental consequences, IF, they had actually served some purpose during their intended lifespan, and done it at a cost that was an improvement over what it replaced. They have failed on both counts, making their environmental transgressions unacceptable.
