    Yes I saw that on Twitter and responded to it.

    Interestingly, I did an analysis of the tax rates of the surrounding 10 RMs versus my own RM. If all 10 were amalgamated the average mill rate needed for the total levy to remain the same would require our RM to double the present mill rates from where they are now.

    And therein lies the biggest problem with amalgamation.

    There are likely a couple cases where two RMs (out of the 10) could be amalgamated without too much pain, but I doubt it will happen unless the province uses a stick or a big carrot.
