Junior Trudeau is not equipped in any way shape or form for what needs to be accomplished and the FN's know that.

So how come Doug Ford hasn’t sent in the OPP? If the solution is so simple as enforcing the law then Ford should have done it before now!
The lame duck Scheer can sit back and say anything he wants because the conservatives don’t care about the First Nation votes.
Everyone wants a peaceful and lasting resolution as soon as possible and the blockades to end. FN Leaders in BC need to decide who makes the decisions. Unelected hereditary chiefs or elected band councils. In the present day it would seem the latter is the correct choice.

This is Trudeau's responsibility ....the effects of the blockade go across the country so its a federal issue....
Its also his most important relationship as he said during the 2015 election campaign ...but has done nothing to fix it...
If you are going to use that logic...then Kenney can approve the Teck oilsands project...
Typical liberal ....put the responsibility on someone else....
Trudeau relies on reactive politics not being proactive....there is no press for being proactive just a 10 second soundbite...

The saying goes : Be careful what you wish for. The Hereditary chiefs or royalty might find themselves out of jobs if true self government is implemented and the whole indigenous affairs system is scrapped. Indigenous people should be treated as Canadians with an indigenous heritage.

I am just shocked how easy these indigenous people are folding at these blockades. On twitter its all abiut taking back all the land and chasing the european colonizers back across the pond and native warriors blah blah. Show up with a truck and throw their shit in the back and they give up and go home.
This looks like a spoiled child at work. Throw a temper tantrum for a while until mom and dad crack down and then realize thats your meal ticket so better tow the line.Last edited by jazz; Feb 22, 2020, 12:58.

That would be "DIRECTING" police like Liberals do, telling them NOT to take down a barricade/blockade!
Rail a federal responsibility, Turdo can wear it. Keep the east blocked for a few more weeks. Just loving it!

As far as I am concerned negotiations with these guys are DOA. Not only do we have 620 different bands in this country with overlapping land claims they cant prove, we have Metis, status and non status, on reserve, off reserve, for economic development, and against economic development, and now we find out that there is another level of unelected unaccountable indigineous royalty above all that. There will be no way to placate anyone from this group from now on. Not even 100% unanimous agreement would be enough for any company to get in bed with these guys. Who knows who will come out of the woodwork.
These guys just shot a double barrel off into both feet and their faces. Good one.
I would make a grand deal with these guys. Indian act gets scuttled and the govt gets out of the native welfare business. In return gift them all reserve lands with a land settlement payout for each that they can do what they want with, buy more land, blow it whatever. They own and control all reserve lands, they get a courtesy phone call about any major developments on the rest and that's it. Supreme court has already ruled they have no veto. Done with it.Last edited by jazz; Feb 22, 2020, 14:30.

That's the only way out once and for all.
Not going to happen until we can't borrow anymore and maybe not everyone will be ok with their living standard to fall to an AISH level.
Even then people will blame the govt.
The slide will continue.
Movement of talent and capital will continue south. And Trudeau will never have to eat mouldy cheese.
It's amazing how we can agree with child psychologists regarding action.
But in an exactly similar circumstance with a tribe, we bend right over.
Who are they going to blockade when private capital gives up once and for all?? Lol.
A generation of debate about an income project..
We are truly very stupid.

Great jazz you are PM material. Chretien started down that road in the 60's, old Turdo never implemented the recommendations.
