When you use proper project criteria, economic and payback consideration, siting and proximity of power generation to use, there is only a thin band in in SE AB, S SK and SW Mb that is suitable for wind only, not solar. Some wind potential in Southern Ontario. Toronto can put up windmills anytime, what are they waiting for? Probably NIMBYs ready to block that too.

More than 90% of the earth surface does not qualify.
