Doesn't matter to me how or why they are willing to subsidize the used machinery market so drastically, just so long as they are willing to keep doing it. It makes grain farming a very profitable enterprise when used equipment is nearly free(as compared to new) due to lack of demand for anything that isn't new.

The BTO operations that flip every year you do have to be very cautious if there is no warranty on big ticket items. The maintenance on the equipment may be very poor. The bargain you thought you got may not be there if you are caught with a major repair bill.

It’s a known fact that a huge percentage of this flipped equipment has had zero maintenance. But it holds price on other related used equipment for the most part . DYODD

By my math that is just over $650 000 a quarter. What area of Saskatchewan that certainly seems like in the upper range of prices per quarter is it not?

Monette is making more work for themselves....not more money....and it could be a kickback scheme as well...

Guys will make a deal at 400000 a quarter....inflate the price to 650000 ...borrow the money and then the seller kicks back 250000 somehow and the buyer continues on....with some cash...

When this party ends....holy cow....even CASE limits the number of combines he can flip in a year...

If a guy bought at reasonable prices ...lets say sub 100 grand a quarter ....this has to take a bad ride to not weather the storm...that is if you still want to farm...or your kids want to...

Lets be honest...if your kids didn't want to farm...how long for the "for sale sign" to go up....mine would be gone but my kids are active here and there is opportunity....I just need a banker more like monette's that see the longer term vision...

Buddy in MJ told me all his crop neighbors are downsizing and sending extra equipment to RB. One had three 4WD tractors and sent two to RB. Another had two sprayers and sent one to RB. etc. etc.
