Have any of you made plans in case you or your farm help get Covid-19? What if this thing turns out to be the real deal. I got to thinking today it would be real bad if someone or everyone in your operation got real sick at seeding time. What plan would you put in place to keep everyone safe on your farm and still get all the work done. It sounds like a real possibility that some of us on here will get sick and possibly die. My plan so far is if someone feels ill stay at home. Seems a bit lacking...

Breadwinner you sound like you don't believe it is a problem yet? Maybe not effecting farmers but everyone else is living the real deal. Was in Walmart yesterday it was empty of people and stock.
If you don't have it yet I would be isolating and taking precautions now so I don't get it including my family. That would be the best preparation you can do.

We are self isolating like everyone else but my wife is in healthcare so everyday she goes to work to help sick people. These people can’t quit working the front lines or were all screwed. She will likely bring it home eventually. Very real and scary situation.

A thought from a friend....
Maybe not seed a crop at all . There is no law saying we have too . Hold off all payments one year . Save a lot of stress and anxiety. We have been told for years we are insignificant in world trade, and all we are is subsidized winners .
Let’s see where the chips fall with thousands of layoffs in Ag if that happens. Be a wake up call as to who is important in society and economy.

And the response will be ......
You go first...
I think a lot of people are going to learn the value of agriculture...when shelves, fridges and meat counters are empty at the store...

Asking now would maybe give enough time to "study it".
Remember the virus was brought here....we didn't start it...
The saskparty also found a 42 percent rebate on provincial sales tax for new homes...Shows they really are chasing the urban vote...good thing they get their blinded support from agriculture producers...
Our ag minister is drop dead stupid as a bag of stones...Last edited by bucket; Mar 21, 2020, 10:12.
