    Farm Sickness Plan

Have any of you made plans in case you or your farm help get Covid-19? What if this thing turns out to be the real deal. I got to thinking today it would be real bad if someone or everyone in your operation got real sick at seeding time. What plan would you put in place to keep everyone safe on your farm and still get all the work done. It sounds like a real possibility that some of us on here will get sick and possibly die. My plan so far is if someone feels ill stay at home. Seems a bit lacking...

Our plan is don’t get sick cause there is no backup plan. Needle on the stress meter is pegged...

There is no way for me to keep everyone "safe". Be aware and cross our fingers.

Who's gonna "live" in the tractor after the first guy goes down sick? He's been breathing, coughing, sneezing, etc all over that cab and he goes down with covid 19. Have to do one hell of a cleaning job, several times before I'd get in there .

And if I do croak, blend me in with few tons of 11-52 and see if I can be of any benefit one last time.

Breadwinner you sound like you don't believe it is a problem yet? Maybe not effecting farmers but everyone else is living the real deal. Was in Walmart yesterday it was empty of people and stock.

If you don't have it yet I would be isolating and taking precautions now so I don't get it including my family. That would be the best preparation you can do.

We are self isolating like everyone else but my wife is in healthcare so everyday she goes to work to help sick people. These people can’t quit working the front lines or were all screwed. She will likely bring it home eventually. Very real and scary situation.

Sounds like the plans are to keep plowing ahead in the best fashion possible. What else would we do? Can't shut this job down so easily.

It's when the wheels stop turning that we know we are screwed beyond measure.

                  A thought from a friend....

Maybe not seed a crop at all . There is no law saying we have too . Hold off all payments one year . Save a lot of stress and anxiety. We have been told for years we are insignificant in world trade, and all we are is subsidized winners .
Let’s see where the chips fall with thousands of layoffs in Ag if that happens. Be a wake up call as to who is important in society and economy.

And the response will be ......

                    You go first...

I think a lot of people are going to learn the value of agriculture...when shelves, fridges and meat counters are empty at the store...

Maybe that should be a question for our ag minister- Any compensation/help
if a farm enterprise falls victim to those circumstances?
Asking now would maybe give enough time to "study it".

Sask party found 1.3 billion for emergencies ....somehow someone has to define emergency for them...when agriculture is the base of this economy...

Remember the virus was brought here....we didn't start it...

The saskparty also found a 42 percent rebate on provincial sales tax for new homes...Shows they really are chasing the urban vote...good thing they get their blinded support from agriculture producers...

Our ag minister is drop dead stupid as a bag of stones...
