In my opinion, if you tested every person in saskatchewan to see who has it, or who shows antibodies of having it, you would be stunned. Now, just do the same thing in New York city! If you can have a social event and have almost everyone infected in a couple hours, whether they know it or not, you cant tell me that it hasn't gotten into most of the population by now? Sask health claims that a big percentage of infected people never even know they had it. On Wednesday in town the grocery stores were insane. I drove by coop parking lot and it was full. A friend of mine was there, said the same thing. If you think that there isn't people in there with the flu your a fool. I really believe that immunity is the only thing that will slow this flu bug down, what else besides a vaccine.

Boris thanked hospital workers and retreated to his" Estate". They are the real heroes cleaning up the mess his government made by not acting sooner and trying for herd immunity. He was out on the front lines glad handing with other celebrities when the epidemic was winding up, setting a fine example. Brexit is still coming. See if that compounds the economic mess.
He should get atleast 25 days to deal with it. Skippy did and he wasn't even sick.

Most likely at least 150 times the death rate. Some reliable studies put the death rate at 0.6%. Worldwide infections likely exceed 50 million now. I've been playing with the numbers here:

After reading a bit this morning and sky news from uk seems Boris May have been in worse shape than he let on.

I was pro herd immunity then changed my mind just not gonna work now seems almost inevitable in countries that were to late with social distancing.

Also reading this morning fine line in definition of relapse and reinfection. Huge huge issue going foward.

One country that’s kept out of lime light is Indonesia thinking its out of control, there

Tricky virus. There may be no absolute herd immunity . Either due to mutations or poor antigen response. It is like playing Russian roulette till it runs it's course.

When the vaccine is available for this, what are they going to do with the growing antivax crowd. I suspect though you might see them jump on the band wagon for this, but if they dont will they have to quarantine forever? Can they send their antivax kids to school or sporting events, etc. Look at how measles were making a comeback, how many times did you see it on the news about outbreaks, especially around airports. Hadn't heard of any measles outbreaks until 4 or 5 years ago to be honest.

Using the number of deaths to project the number of infected cannot be done in the middle of a pandemic.
The death rate will be different in every jurisdiction. No two populations will experience exactly the same outcome.

Let alone not on the same spot on the curve whether steep or flattened.

Take care of our own backyard. Comparisons will be hard. Demographics, overall public health, efforts and co-operation to contain, etc.

Mortality is the only hard number we can use until testing is increased.

I will agree the deceased are easy enough to count but you can't use it to suggest how many are infected. Doesn't work.
For example, on March 9 the report said one person had died in all of Canada. No way just using that statistic can one make any kind of assumption as to how many are infected.
