Very disappointing that there wasn't more talk of fixing BRM throughout this pandemic aid package.

Conservatives could have went to bat for farmers throughout this and got some fixes to the current shitshow they helped create...

They are more than happy to talk about energy companies problems while not addressing the 79.9 cent a litre gas prices with oil hovering at 10 bucks a barrel in Western Canada....someone in the sector is making good money....

Agreed, I think the ag money will go to rich farmers grandpa s money and corporate backed who don’t need it to take over guys with crop in the field multiple drought or flood years.

Early the yr read a write up on farm finances in the back of one of those free magazines that show up in the mail. Maybe something from Angus or Cattleman.

Anyway to sum it up guy from MNP who wrote it says don't expect any new cash from the Liberals as they see ag as an untapped source of new tax money as overall we have a huge amount of equity that is untaxed. I think the number he used was $1-$1.5 Trillion.

Scheer got in on support for supply management. The priority with the Conservatives is politics and western ag doesn't matter because most western farmers vote Conservative no matter what.

But the thread is about the lack of discussion and support for ag.

Many successful farms don't need any more government handouts.

The Ritchie Brothers high auction sale prices are a strong indication that ag is not suffering as much as some would like us to believe.
