Good article in the National Post:"Federal Conservative's raise concerns about COVID-19 data from WHO and its relationship with China." In other headlines I see Trump wants to cut funding to the WHO for the very same reason. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck it is probably a duck. Not very often I agree with Trump but maybe he is right on this one.

In January Trump praised China for it's transparency on COVID-19. Now he attacks' WHO' for trusting China? Boris Johnsons 's government just raised it's contribution to WHO. Trump's move is purely political to help his re-election so he can blame others for his failure. There are probably issues with the WHO but destroying it would not be good for the world without another plan.Last edited by agstar77; Apr 15, 2020, 08:07.

In January Trump was praising China for its Covid response. Now he is pissed because the WHO was trying to carefully manage China to ensure it cooperates.
Trump is criticizing the WHO for mismanaging the outbreak while critics are saying Trump mismanaged the outbreak in the USA.
Just what we need in a time of a global pandemic more China vs US drama and politics and attacks on an international organization that's mandate is to help globally manage fighting this pandemic.

China, WHO, UN, Globalization are DOA. The anger in the public is starting to grow now.

I'll be like a spring calf let out of the pen.
I'll gladly do with less.
And I've said many times if the economy had depended on people with my spending habits it would be a lot smaller than it is/was.
Did I do well when people were living on fried food and throwing half of it away? Sure. Now I'll do with less

You’re correct, time to arrest the criminals
The United States is the WHO's largest single donor, and the State Department had previously planned to provide the agency $893 million in the current two-year funding period. Trump said the United States contributes roughly $400 to $500 million per year to WHO, while China offers only about $40 million. The money saved will go to areas that "most need it," Trump asserted.Last edited by Oliver88; Apr 15, 2020, 09:19.

The US Chamber of Commerce released a statement criticizing Trump’s decision to halt funding to the World Health Organization.
“The Chamber supports a reformed but functional World Health Organization, and U.S. leadership and involvement are essential to ensuring its transparency and accountability going forward,†the executive vice president of the lobbying group, Myron Brilliant, said in a statement.
“However, cutting the WHO’s funding during the COVID-19 pandemic is not in U.S. interests given the organization’s critical role assisting other countries — particularly in the developing world — in their response.â€
A number of world leaders have similarly criticized Trump’s decision, arguing that cutting off funds to the WHO will only make all countries more vulnerable in the middle of a pandemic.
