I looked at the Machinery section and there were very few posts so I decided to ask this question on here. At present I have a Spra Coupe 7660 sprayer, really good machine but I would like a bigger tank probably 1000 gallons. I went and looked at a New Holland Sp260r yesterday, nice sprayer but only 42 inches clearance so no good for use in canola once it is flowering. So basically 3 choices a new holland sp240 or 275f, case 3330 or a John Deere 4830. Just curious on everybody's opinion. Thanks.

Good Morning Hamloc. I have personally owned and operated both the 4830 and 3330. There are good and bad points on both. The weaknesses on the 4830 are the incredibly high noise level in the cab, the boom trip design is not as good as the 3330. The trip on the 3330 trips both forward and back so doesn't hit the stop hard like the 4830 does. And the 4830 is very back heavy (I ran duals on the back) and the scissor wishbones on the suspension are a maintenance item. In every other aspect, the GPS and auto steer, the plumbing layout and ride the 4830 is a better more refined machine. However I traded my 4830 for a 3330 for the quiet cab, heavier suspension, more rugged trips on the boom, and better balance. The radiator air intake location is poor on the 3330 and you have to clean the rad periodically in some applications. I think that could be fixed by blocking off the air coming from under the sprayer. The plumbing on the 3330 is a nightmare, especially to drain for winter. The suspension for the boom is not as good as the 4830 but only a little worse. The aim command on the 3330 in my opinion is useful only in certain situations and adds a great deal to maintenance. (That is a whole other issue). Lastly I would say I had a 2600 screen on the 4830 and Pro 700 on the 3330. The 4830 could get ahead of the processor in the screen if you did a lot of on and off for odd shapes. I would go to the 2630 screen, you may also be influenced by what ever system you have on your other equipment as the commonality would be a real benefit. Good Luck

We had most of the Spra coupes, have a Rogator RG 700 and absolutely love it
If you can’t live with the 700 gal tank try an RG900
In my opinion Rogator is way ahead of case and JD
Haven’t had to blow the rad or air filter in 5 years
With a case you will do that every day
Really well built and computerized 4 wheel drive is amazing , cannot get stuck , wheels won’t spin and dig holes . All around amazing machine

Get the case. The 4830 is so loud in the cab you will need ear plugs. I wish I would have bought a case sprayer, I've run a good friend of mines, their the best on the market, as far as I'm concerned. But buy whatever your comfortable with, because at the end of the day you have to live with that unit.

I’m running on my 2nd 3330, upgraded the last one with 120’ booms. I love my AIM and would not be without it. The only bitch I have with them is power. Last couple of years it’s been good but if we get back to the wet years it would be nice to have more ponies. The radiator does become dirty, but you can minimize it by leaving your wheels out as far as possible and putting mud flaps on the fenders. I use swather canvas for my mud flaps.
And a comment for Caseih, if you’re not gonna support us Case guys you might have to change your name to RogatorLast edited by Sodbuster; Apr 16, 2020, 14:27.

Certainly have nothing against them, have a really good local dealer, just not as many used available and therefore more expensive. I spray lots of Liberty and on occasion fungicide so a larger tank would help efficiency imo.
We dont marry any of them although farm is quite red
Saw a girl in a red bikini once when i was young , red is favorite color ever since
Thr RG 700 is light years ahead of the 7660 FWIW

Ya, dealer support huge.
One stop support for in house parts and knowledge. The tech guy most valuable in the building.
My impression after only running 3330.
Gators tough, but no decent support here. Deere's good but weak booms.
I take it your not stretching your tank.
Some nh had riskier hyd systems if higher hours.
AIM command ho hum. Get it if you can.
Don't pay full premium for it.
But I like it.
Case monitor and controler etc.
NOT Raven.
Need to be a gnome or elf to work on engine area. 4 series bigger.
Push 3000 hrs start to see more nuisance internal breaks in harnesses.
NP on booms at all.
Make sure turbo intake PIP done if needed. Clamps weren't on properly on some. And it's an Iveco engine.
Don't run it out of fuel.
And DO check your crank breather filter.
If you see a Pro 600 factor in a $5k replacement.
RTK subscription useful if a lot of fung.
Auto height works well. Get the air compressor if you want lifters I guess.
A treat to drive.
Yes maintain the rad and filters.
