    No visiting family

Anyone else in the situation with a parent or loved one in a care center and you can only see them thru a window? And also know if they opened it up for visits, it would be a disaster for many of the residents?

    Trying times. Helpless feeling.

We have two moms in 2 different seniors long-term care facilities. We can’t even get up to their windows to talk through the window. Got caught by security trying to climb fence last Saturday. BAD PEOPLE We used to have a camera in her room before. That was great as you could visit through that but now not allowed. Our home has Skype visits and we visit once a week. They just set an IPad on her walker and the workers can just go about their work. We bought a Google Hub to set up for our other mom but never got a chance to set it up for her. You just talk to it like a Alexa. You can say, “phone Hank for me” or, “Turn off my tv.”

Flyin' across the desert from Texas to Tucson
But we're headed for a southern star
The captain says it's fine in…

          He's a big one, he's got a big gun
I guess we better go along

Mister we've got a gig in Arizona
Second billing to the rolling stones

Why would they not allow a camera for you to visit through? It’s solutions like that which allow communication for a group that is somewhat lacking in outside connections to stay in touch. We lost my last grandparent a year ago and it’s a blessing in disguise as she wouldn’t have handled the separation very well especially with the dementia.

I feel for anyone separated from their family through this.

Spare a thought for mother’s giving birth, minimal staff in delivery room and no hubby mum or siblings allowed.

Also not just the older generation, but much younger people in assisted/full care.

It has to be extremely hard as a caregiver to find out you brought in Covid that takes the lives of the people you have been caring for.
