Finally dry on top here. Dust swirling on top of roads last couple days. Lots of mud and bottomless a little over a week ago. Frost wasn't completely out this time last year. So a couple weeks ahead from last year.

Rained off and on all day, then more snow over night.
They say you can't make water wetter, but you sure can make mud muddier and deeper.
Takes a lot of the fun out of calving. Jan/Feb calving this year would have been much better.
Average January high here after the end of the cold spell was +4.4 degrees C ( no, thats not a typo, positive 4.4). No snow on any of those days.
Feb average high for the whole month was +0.6C
March -0.2 C
April so far +0.9 C and precipitation on all but 4 days
And that is from a station half hour north of here, we are usually much warmer in winter, close to equal by this time of year.
Not a positive trend. Had 3 double digit highs in Jan and Feb, and none since.
Edit, image in January highs starting after the end of the cold spell:
Still good snowmobiling conditions, everywhere except where the cows are, where it is impassible to quad or vehicle, and as of the past 2 days impossible to pull a calf sled.Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Apr 18, 2020, 10:46.
