If weather pattern holds, and machinery parts supply chains dont eff me, I'm hoping for the weekend. Alot of things to come together between now and then. Frost was out to about 8" 2 days ago, and yesterday was 17C. Soil temp was mid to high 40s 2 days ago. I'll check again this morning and see where it's at.

Seeding this week, not a chance, we're at least 3 weeks from any meaningful field work. Our fields today are still complete white, with any luck water should start to move tomorrow. To date our high for the month is about 3C, but their forecasting 9C for today and 12C for tomorrow.Hope you guys with no snow get going soon so when we do get going we won't have to wait for juice.😁
Good luck seedings everyone and be safe.

        Pic from this morning.

I think I’ll go skidooing again today. But there is the one hill I see some stubble poking on, have to give that one a wide berth... lol seeder is half a mile away might have to pack a lunch and a sled full of tools to start working on it? Lol

+1 at 10 am, brisk wind. Another cold day so far. High apparently 15. We shall see about that.

Changed another 200 acres over to alfalfa. I just can’t deal with this anymore. Anyone take a cut the establishment year with any success?

A note. My wife had a Facebook memory come up today. I was harrowing ten years ago today. Earliest I have ever been in the field. Then it started raining, and is the year we seeded ZERO acres. Lots can happen yet! Maybe it turns around, who knows?

It’s hard to even fathom isn’t it? I mean we usually get enough snow, but there is not usually such a stark difference in an hours drive.

Has me thinking about overwintered crops. Maybe those with success are in areas where there is less to no winter snow? Maybe next month I will find out how my flax did.

It is STUCK weather again, just like a hundred times in my lifetime. I always think it's the evil ICEBOX Hudson Bay wrecking us being included in "spring' an hour west or south.
It works in our favor when TOO DRY else where at times, only 3 years too dry out of 53...pick your poison/stress.
