As far as I'm concerned, all AgStab is is a barometer program to measure the average financial health of the primary Ag Producers enrolled, I wonder if the cross- section of enrolled participants is truly representative of all farms as a whole.
And yup, a good make work project.

There was an article in the April 2020 of Agriview stating how much money has been paid out in the 2017 year through AgriStability......why highlight 2017? That was 4 years ago!

Why highlight 2017? It's because they haven't finished the 2018 year yet.

I haven't had a problem with them, but I haven't collected since the frost of 2004....then in 2005 they asked for some back! LMFAO. Since then never been in a claims position and year to year numbers( inventory, A/R, prepaids, etc) must fall within "their" margin of error. Anyone ever question their commodity valuations? The COB(calculation of benefits) you receive is kinda a macro view of the calculations of your application, I think there is a micro view of the calculations that account for the commodity values they are using to value your inventory and the changes in value of carried forward inventory, etc.

      Fun fun fun.....

Yo tweety this is what we’re playing against.

Trudeau can piss away billions on foreign gov and do nothing for farmers that have to compete against the USA treasury.

You really have to be special not to figure what makes going on.

        Let’s make Canadian farms poorer.

It won't help, too many hands in the pot unlike oil companies etc. You pay to give all your data to every supplier, and to those that don't get it directly pay other companies like John Deere, Climate, CNH, Decisive, Echelon (you know, those "helpful" companies you pay to grow you more grain because you're a progressive farmer that embraces technology) to get it.

They know more about your farm then you do. So when your handout arrives, together they take it and much more.

Ever think the solution is closer to home then a government handout?

Ok now I see where you are going...yes true....

But you are also fighting the policy of FCC that recently said they see more value in the larger farms....so thats where we are heading and they have buyers waiting....

Agristability is nothing more than a funnel to friends of rhe government money.

Formula for crop insurance is flawed and this is what agristability is based upon so it is flawed also. Takes way too long doesn’t make sense.

It’s just something there that the politicians and farm groups can always go back to and say gee we have a program already when in fact we don’t. I believe it was Mr Hoback that one time came out and finally said it’s useless but nothing more was heard or said. Think it was him anyways.

We need something that solves your situation in the fall other wise it should pay the interest costs that producers bare to have to wait for rhe *** useless garbage to tell you no sorry.

Ok, so if you were in the government's shoes you can see the master plan. If you're a smaller farmer - or a BTO one with too much debt there is plenty of other farmers willing to take over your farm - and you can go away and simply collect welfare. All the while FCC is standing by to loan the money to expedite the sale - as is RB Auctions. So why keep the laggards in business? This isn't a liberal strategy - it was long in play by the conservatives. Support programs look like support programs where they announce the same 2 billion dollars over and over again - but just shuffled to another program that you can't collect from if you practice any sort of risk management strategy. The Liberals would have never thought up this plan.

Time for some to look this problem straight in the eye and be real with the situation.
