    Buying Votes

A buying we will go 🎵🎶🎵

So..... A young first year university student got a part-time job at Walmart stocking shelves. His shift starts at 10 PM. Probably will get 15-20 hrs per week at $12/hr. Think he’ll stay stocking shelves when he can get $1250 per month sitting home playing Mario Brothers? Maybe there’s no more Mario Brothers.🤷🏻

I don’t think either one pencils out. After four months of that they will figure that out

Well you know the Liberal answer to that. He is an essential worker and needs to be recognized as such. $20/hour minimum wage. Probably overworked. Cut his hours to 10 hours a week and pay him $35/hour. Alberta will pay for it.

Trudeau is turning this country into a welfare state trying to buy votes.
Farmers can get a loan at FCC to pay their carbon tax increase.

One thing to think about , and I agree we have been gutted , but sit back and ask why ?
There is a pile of cash in Agri Invest being used as a retirement fund , government knows and the feds know. So they see a complete different story “on paper”, so are more programs needed?? That’s the perception, but not reality for most of us .
Also where else ia the money going to come from in Sask ? Government jobs, casinos ?? Lol they just recirculate money, don’t create SFA .
Oil has been crushed , uranium has been crushed , lumber has been crushed ... virtually everything other than Ag that actually creates wealth for the general public has been kicked in the teeth ... who is left to actually pay the bills ??? They had to cut from something. Absolutely not defending them but seriously, someone come up with an answer here , where the *** is the money going to come from ?? Who is left to actually create any sort or wealth here in Sask ???

It sucks , but it’s simply a reality , there are far too many takers here than givers to the actual economy let aloneAg . And we are fortunate compared to many other provinces solely because of what was a strong farm economy. Yes our Ag programs have been gutted but where else do they get money from ?
Casinos don’t create wealth they are simply a perfect to wealth redistribution system for weak minded people , like alcohol and cigarettes, it is what it is .
Almost nothing left in Sask that actually creates wealth and the disrespect is terrible to farms like has been pointed out .
To top it off we as farmers have paid millions of dollars for “representative groups” that have done virtually SFA for us the past 2-3 years.
Pulse tariffs , canola export disruptions, the flax debacle, the canary seed scandal........ on and on and on .... absolutely nothing substantial was ever done . But they all get yearly holidays to exotic locations on our money . And now we will be hit with yet more carbon tax , seed tax and and and ..... but we are just whiners lol .
It’s not just the “Sask Party” turning their backs on us , it’s the entire Ag industry that been bending us over a barrel for over a decade that has left us out to hang dry it the breeze .
Again I agree with you Big Wheel but what is the alternative?? Tax who ? This stampede towards socialism will be a disaster for farms . Giving free money to First Nations for decades has just created a further train wreck for them and now that very same principle is being applied nation wide . Giving average people free money to do SFA is a recipe for a social disaster. That’s been proven over the past 100 years .
The problem is the extreme leftists and elite of this country both left and right truly believe we as farmers should all be back to peasants and nothing more . They all hate to see success as farmers , they hate to see “wealthy farms” , it drives them crazy .. you see that same attitude right here on Agriville... they hate to see someone else other than themselves with what they perceive as to have a dollar more wealth then they have ... they simply can’t accept that .
So they will continue to tax the shite out of us and cut programs until they push us into poverty, unless we stand up for ourselves. So yes the Sask Party needs a kick in the nards but what are the answers? The spotlight is on the ultra big farms like Monette and others that not representative of the 90% of us but that’s the perception out there.
Sorry for going off topic but this goes way beyond the Sask party . And no I am not a “hard core conservative” but the alternatives have proven to be a disaster. And right now none of us have any answers, but the Sask Party and Moe may well just be the best of the worst right now .
Our biggest concern by far has to be the morons in Ottawa, not the Sask government. The current Liberal government is killing Canada , and our kids future not the Sask Party .

Kevin Hursch says we don't need money...but he has his fingers in a lot of cookie jars that keeps him writing stupid shit from his holiday locations...ignorant phuck he is...someone should call him out on his paper bagging...

Agri-invest at the current rates would be depleted pretty fast if used to prop up most farms....

I think guys with big accounts go back to NISA days with bonus interest when they were parking money.

Those guys don't have money buying land at these prices....they have money because they wait for the land to come to them...the back road deals when the dusty cheque book comes out of the glove box ...and the hand shake is gold.

The bucket I miss those back road days.

Best deals were made and guys were happy.

Now I'm dealing with a Realeste Lady that just doesn't get farming.

So in the US, Trump and even congress, banks, fed reserve are all directing funds to the most important drivers of the economy trying to revive it or at least keep it afloat. They will go for a couple trillion dollar infrastructure plan next.

If Trudeau were to follow that model, his spending is about 250B short at a min.

Instead of doing whats needed to revive the economy, he has taken what he can get his hands on without breaking the bank and bought votes from different pet groups again. I mean community service groups are great and all, but they factor zero into the economy. The oil industry which contributes 12% of our GDP got less money than arts and community services.

Anyway, you can see where this is going. Oil is our biggest export and RE is our biggest internal GDP churn. Both are DOA and Canada cannot recover without those. Our recovery will be years behind the US.

Jazz - good post. Demonstrates that a plan with even a little thought is better than what our federal government is doing.
