It takes them a couple weeks to train you not to flinch when they want to sit on your knee.

There is a fellow traping them in sask uses conabear traps that quick kill and they dont smell if you are careful not to cut sent glands, and then draws sent from them and makes a lure for trapping other animals like martin, fisher, lynx.
Back when I was in high school I shot a skunk in the barn. It didn't release any scent, so I skinned it. I left it hanging on the stretcher that I made in the shop for yrs. It was a great conversation piece. Mostly people couldn't believe I would skin one.

First thing I trapped n my life was a gigantic skunk. In a leg hold for coyotes. Shot it in the chest, never sprayed somehow. I got up the nerve and skinned it. Somehow I missed the scent glands and got it done scent free. Was a beautiful pelt. I should have had it tanned! Haven’t got the nerve to skin one since, but I also rarely have success avoiding discharge when shot, and I’ve shot a pile of skunks.

Think it’s called varmitgetter but it one line from your tanks injects a mix of propane and oxygen in the hole, another line has an igniter like your bbq, then remove the wand that has injected the mix. Cover hole with sand bag, press button on ignition switch and destroy the contents of the hole as well as collapse the burrow.

As I was unable to live-trap a persistent stripped visitor living in our barn, I eventually ended up shooting it outside the door.

I wasn't so lucky as LEP. Bad location.

Through weeks of rain, sun and winds, the stink stayed in the ground where he fell. I finally ended up taking two loader buckets of soil away and replacing it with fresh dirt. Problem solved.

                    Respect the strip!

Sorry, not being critical, sometimes when I am a tired wreck my sense of humour goes into overdrive. Lol All I pictured is a persistent, naked visitor, living in my barn. Trying to live trap it, but not going well. Lol So, I uh, well, I shot it! Lol so sorry.

Okay, it took two more read-throughs to see what you were on about, LOL!

Some things are best left unedited for the amusement value.

And the answer would be - only the poor poker players and those who don't pay their bills.

Careful 6V53, you don't want to create any "welfare weasels".

But that is still so cool.
