    Consider This 🤨

So.... I go to Costco Regina yesterday and 1 out of 35 wearing masks (in line). The line was moving pretty well. The greeter at the door gave us dire warning that as of next week, we may be required to wear a mask to gain entry. Why? Because US is going that route. So.... I say, “If that’s what it takes to open er up”, “ Let’s get on with the show”. Think this is the answer? Las Vegas casino parking lots have turned into Food Bank drive-throughs. Immigrants lost their jobs-going from sending money back home to lining up for food with no end in-sight.

People are stupid. Businesses will really suffer once they reopen and staff doesn't want to work without virus bonus pay and no customers. I doubt most of the major malls will survive.

Look at autos. Not only is cash for clunkers coming back, the auto manufacturers are also requesting Feds waive GST/HST on new autos as same time, just to try and get people to buy.

Certainly not a dull moment this year.

What a conundrum. Yesterday we needed a few specialized plumbing supplies. Goto one wholesale- oh no you can’t come in. Then can you set parts by door, oh no can’t touch your charge card. Ok, next wholesaler, oh no not letting anyone in. I say, “Really, there might be one case in Regina in last 2 weeks.” Have all the clerks at Superstore died? Safeway? Pharmacy death rate up? Geez, I think it’s gone overboard. There are pockets where people aren’t being careful, outsiders coming into homes infected. Big extended families living together, working together, one old man flies in from who knows where, moves in with them. He goes directly to Calgary ICU, the rest go to work at the meat plant. Shut the friggin borders!

Tough to shut borders, have an economy, buy whatever you need in any store you choose to go into, have airlines, and export goods at the same time

Alberta is opening up quite well. if we call first have not had any problems anywhere getting parts... even hardware stores now let folks inside with warm weather and garden/lawn work... social distancing but few masks.

Manitoba more in tune. Almost all shopping at COSTCO wear masks and employees also. Hope this keeps up , so we can get back to a semblance of normal. Thank the U.S. for large number of cases in the rest of Canada. The disregard for intelligence warnings in the U.S. led to a mess with twice the cases and three times the deaths.

Thank the U.S. and Canada for keeping flights coming from overseas way way to long , from China and Italy . We got it bad here in North America in general because flights were coming in from hotspots from each direction.
New Zealand 🇳🇿 did it right .
U.S. did not want to shut the air industry down
Canada did not want to offend anyone... 👎
Thus there is a gong show in North America in general .
Look at Saskatchewan numbers , biggest numbers ... in Stoon area .... busiest airport .. numbers speak for themselves there .

Flattening the curve may only marginally reduce total number of deaths over a steep infection curve. Health care may be able to save afew more lives teetering on deaths doorstep but the most vulnerable will probably perish regardless of where on the curve or which curve they contract it on.

Just because we hide away from other people doesn't make us immune" either!

Down here where I live we are 1 hour from Medicine Hat AB. Brooks is 1 hour away from there. Number of cases of Covid skyrocketing, last I heard yesterday almost 800 cases in Brooks, mostly related to people working at the plant and conditions, foreign workers not going by the rules, etc. Lots of people go to Med Hat to get their goods, etc. Also two work buses leave Medicine Hat with packing plant workers every day to Brooks , and back. Now with the plant "supposedly" shut down, reduced shifts , who knows what the end result will be.

Bottom line , I fear there is going to be a real wreck on its way . Not real comfortable being an hour away. Haven't been to the city since January, and going to keep it that way , and see what happens.

                        Masks versus condoms....

When you engage in risky sexual activity you wear a condom, but that single time doesn't provide protection subsequent times. Same as the mask, as long as the risk is present you will need to "mask-up" if you are so inclined.

This isn't going away, do the best you can to mitigate your risk, PPE, abstinence(isolation), vaccinate if and when it's available.

                        Good luck everyone

I haven't decided what I should start with this year, maybe a little corona flu to start with, then a splash of lyme disease and finish up with some good ole west nile virus.

There will be people that say global warming is the cause of these viruses ruining our day.

I'm not in that crowd, I don't think a slight warming or cooling has anything to do with how cells evolve.

It just seems like there's more sharp things to step on than there used to be.
