Friday Crop Report on a Thursday!

Funny how we finish the wheat in record time this spring and get going on the Canola and it has been a challenge with Rain. We are at a 1/2 in since spring melt. But more is on its way for Friday.

We tried Doing Canola late yesterday and it was back up to 12. Yes if it flows it goes but so far we have had to dry Zero Crop this spring and it's kind of nice.

Farms are wrapping up the spring harvest or getting really close. Everything from Swath Oats that's still making a Two to Flax Canola etc. Wildlife damage is a min and only really on Small areas close to DU or Creeks and Valley. The ground is starting to firm thanks to the rain.

On Rainy days we get the equipment ready for seeding and have drill one ready to go. All seed is cleaned and delivered. The sprayer is ready but nothing really growing as the ground is really cold. We think one guy near the valley Seeded a 100 acres and yes on the south side of the valley the odd guy is seeding. Very few early birds this year.

Zero fires yet and that's a good thing. Things will light up as guys finish, Fields need some prep for seeding with ruts and straw.

The grain is moving and funny falling numbers now really arent being talked about. Now its spring harvested grain.

I figure a lot of guys will hit the fields Monday in our area.

With Covid 19 still on the Pms mind. Skippy wants this to continue right into summer and maybe fall. He kind of is warning Provinces to not open to fast. Tam is a total failure and it's not because of her race or sexuality. She is just incompetent.

The Money skippy is pissing away has kind of stopped. Funny how AG got shit all out of all this mess and was needed to keep food and good food on the tables of the useless. Yea I bet we can all figure out how skippy is going to pay for this bullshit. Yea he is coming after the elderly in a death tax, The Average in Capital Gains. Your home sale. Oh but don't worry Wealthy Liberals will get to keep offshore banks happy.

Oh the CFL asked for 150 mill and farmers get a Loan at prime plus 1.

Oh, we can thank Ag Stab for letting us get 75% of our money from the insurance instead of 50% Now. Yippy. No one qualifies and if you do you'll pay it all back.

Deere is laying off more people in the USA. Yep, times are great on the farm.

Farm Progress Show in Regina is cancelled and it is a good thing because maybe the fools running it will wake up in the next year and realize they are barking up the wrong tree.

Unifor go back to Ontario. You did nothing but hurt Coop employees in Sask.

Moe and Dr Shahab keep up the good work on this file.

So as the silly season Begins and farmers hit the fields for massive spring planting be safe and let hope 2020 is one profitable year for all.

A question....about agristabilty....if you are qualifying for a 2020 payment or benefit.....somehting doesnt add up...

Never received a payment from this program so I am not sure how I would qualify for a 2020 benefit when they just started working on my 2018??????

And if you are qualifying does that not mean you are in tough?

I havent got anything close to any payment since the 2002 frost. That they got back 100%.

Yea if someone is getting them then things are really not good.

Those who did an interm last fall with most crop out and then spring harvest goes good will have to pay it all back. One good thing it did provide some cash flow for those farms as banks called crop out 0.

1000 acres to go. We can see the finish line.

Should have called SouthCountry service and sent SaskPower the bill.

                    Halfway there.

All you can do is register a damage claim to SPC and they take 3 days to get back to you.

Just got started in the field today and it feels nice.

Tried around home but the clay was too wet so some lighter ground that got hit with the breaking disk last fall was just right. Currently raining and hopefully it doesn’t amount to much. Got to 50% done calving yesterday without too much drama besides a few more cows than normal stealing calves which leads to chaos. Got the other disk and tractor patched up for another year and they should head out tomorrow as well.

A few fields are getting burnt in the neighbourhood and that’s it for fieldwork so far. Best of luck to anyone with crop out yet. The frogs started croaking which means we got another dump of snow coming yet. Last year we got 6 inches on May 4 and they’re calling for cold and rain on Monday........ we’ll see what form of moisture that is.

Grass is turning green ............ finally 🍀

Frogs got going here yesterday which is at least two weeks behind the last couple years and three weeks behind what we used to call normal. Good luck with that idea that Canada is warming 3 times faster than the rest of the World!

I was considering sucking in the rest of the cable and running her until she burnt down and see if Saskpower buys combines. Dad said that would look suspicious.
